5 & 4 are pretty much hand and hand. And guess what? It's primarily ego boosters.
3 is exactly how an RPG plays, it's that simple. If you thought otherwise you were delusional.
2 isn't as bad as you think. Play Borderlands 2. I live the game, but it is the single biggest flaw. I walked my friend through his campaign, while i was already maxed. I got board after the first five minutes. There's no point to being a god. It's boring.
1 is fair play. However, you bought into the idea too. The ships is a let down, but technically they are customizable (for the record I'm NOT defending them, just offering up a technicality that I find amusing) seeing as you can change them. The idea of exploring an entire planet? That's a little far fetched for now. Give it five to ten years, and we may see continents or something. But nobody really should have believed that. Should they have said it? No. But expecting it was a little silly.
Also, this is NOT a $500 million game. The four game franchise is a $500 million deal. I doubt this game will pass the $200 million mark. And typically around half of a games budget comes from advertising. Typically. Always exceptions.
