Destiny is already awesome, but with so many ships I'm wondering if they can do it. ....... Nah they can do it. Actually what I'm hoping for is sort of like DarkForceLegend's comment which is already be cool enough as it is im hoping they add it, but I'm thinking of getting together with friends to fight fallen skiffs, and once in a while, sort of like a public event, a fallen ketch, which would be super hard, like fighting the corvette in halo reach, lots of guns, explosions, and other fallen ships, and then fighting things that can latch on to your ship, like the buzz droids in star wars, but instead of buzz droids, there modified shanks with saw blades on their guns, and a drill that comes out of their head, if they get onto your ship you can try to shake them off but if they get into your ship, you go into first-person to fight them, once you get them off your ghost can repair your ship, this hopefully will be the edition of more ghost shells to, the better the ghost you have, the faster your ghost can repair your ship, once you kill the ketch, by sabotaging it, it gives you ship upgrades, equipment, and so on and so forth. personally I think its a really cool idea. because the space combat in halo reach is so awesome the long light of solace mission is my favorite mission because of the saber combat. I really hope they add this, I mean why not go off the beaten path directly to a planet when you can explore, and kill fallen, and I think there going to do this when they add more planets, but why not make sort of a black nebula, that will be the darkness, if you go into the darkness, you will die instantly, ta da, the perfect barrier to keep people from going into the planets they haven't added. Again personally I love this idea and I hope BUNGiE adds more planets and space combat/exploration really soon.

Hmm... I could see something like a space exploration. Like hunting for salvage by landing on derelict ships and, sure, some enemy ships to fight!

I don't think it would add anything meaningful to the game... It would effectively be a dogfighting minigame between actual gameplay locations.

They could toggle gravity

Imagine 3rd person space combat like Dead Space 3.

I feel the same its a awesome idea it would be crazy to be able to be in space combat and still be able to land on a moon or a near by planet and take the fight to land but even if its just space combat it should be a lot of fun and like you said it really would add a whole new element to the game.
