Look, I understand that some sort of Parity is wanted between the platforms, but Bungie, you need to understand, that Parity, is bull.
So what if PS3 will only run at 30fps, while you can crank out 60fps on the PS4. It doesn't effect sales in the least bit of last gen versions of your game. Because in the end, if a person only has a PS3, then he or she is going to buy the game for the PS3. They aren't going to wait until they get a PS4, they want to play it now, and now they only have a PS3.
It is this backwards thinking that has cause many games to not live up to their potential. Watchdogs was one of those games which had excellent potential on the PC, but was downgraded visually to have some sort of parity between the consoles. All this did was upset gamers.
People with the latest gen consoles, want the latest gen experience. Battlefield 4 for the PS3 runs at 30 fps, but on the PS4, it runs at 60fps, and people are happy about it, They feel like they have a next gen experience.
Not only does it flow better at 60fps, but when you play other games at 60fps, it won't make you sick going back and forth. After playing the beta for the entire time it was open, then going back to Battlefield 4, I literally got sick from the change in frame rate. Being at 60fps, along with many other games, allows people to easily go back and forth between different games, including Destiny, which doubles the life of the game in and of itself. People won't play it to death, put it down for a couple of days, which turns into weeks, and the next thing you know it is back on Gamestop's shelves.
So in conclusion, get rid of the parity idea, and give next gen console users a next gen experience. Frame rate over resolution, We would all be happy if it was 900p at 60fps. rather than 1080p at 30fps.

I can't say I'm too worried. When I put a bluray in my system it automatically adjusts to 24 hz because that's what it looks best at. I know video games are different but it's not nearly the issue people make it out to be.

I've been playing the last of us remastered and holy crap That's 60 frames a sec with great detail. There should be no problem for the ps4 to run at 60. I would love for Bungie to troll on the xbone by having ps4 play at like 900p and have superior 60 fps while crucible and then see how microstuff handles
-
Before you go on the forums typing out an essay, you might want to look it up on google. Destiny is 1080p 60fps on both Ps4 and XBO. So ya........you look kind of silly now.

60fps matters
-
I thought ps4 was 60fps? They announced before beta that ps4 was managing 60 fps at 1080p whereas the xbox one wasn't. It was managing 900 ish p at 30 fps. Anyway I don't care about 60fps. The human eye apparently only registers 30. Only time you would notice is if you get a dip. Unfortunately all you going on about 60fps being much better sound like pc elitests. No one was complaining how awful 30fps was last gen so what's changed? Oh that's right nothing other than the fact you have been told some games can do it. I just think you have convinced yourselves that 60fps is a necessity even though it's not.
-
The xbox one only played 30 Fps and 720 for beta and bungie said that both next gen consoles will run 60 Fps and 1080 during full release

60 would be nice but if not, it won't really matter.
-
Naive post dude. 60 fast will fluctuate when on proximity to a large number of players all doing their awesome stuff compared to the stability of the constant 30 fps. I think bungie know better than you on this subject
-
Saw no problems playing the beta! If thats the standard at launch im more than happy wotever it is
-
I honestly don't know why people are still moaning about the frame rate. To people who have actually played the alpha and/or beta, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FRAME RATE and they'll agree with me. All you want is a higher frame rate so you can jiggle your jangle over 60 frames per second that you'll never actually notice it.
-
I'm fine with a stable 30fps. 1080p rather than 900p at 60fps, which fluctates
-
Lol, this post.
Look, I understand that some sort of Parity is wanted between the platforms, but Bungie, you need to understand, that Parity, is bull.
/thread Seriously though, why does parity matter? It benefits Bungie for people to buy the PS3/360 version (because it's all they have), eventually decide to buy a PS4/X1, and buy the game again thinking: "Oh look, Destiny on next gen is 60FPS, with splitscreen, with more players per location and other benefits. I'm going to buy it again!"
-
They are making it 30fps to keep it even on both next gen consoles. 60fps will put a lot of strain on the system since it's not a PC and use up more memory with them lowering it down to 30fps it makes their files slightly smaller and the consoles won't strain as much either.
-
Constant 30 fps >>>>>>> dipping, screen tearing 60 fps.
-
How bout 10 fps then they can cater to the original xbox and ps2 market as well

Edited by Kurasaki: 7/29/2014 10:17:44 PMHonestly I'd rather have constant never failing 30 fps, which the game currently is in all its glory... than 60fps that dips and rises constantly which is honestly sincerely unbearable... just because there have been nex-gen titles in 60fps doeesnt mean theyre locked there by any means...steady consistent frame rate is significantley better than occasional 60 fps... thats just me though...
-
Watchdog BS us and yet we still playing. So it not a major problem.30 fps look awesome in ps4
-
The thing is having 60FPS at 1080p would half the render time for the devs, so graphics would inevitably take a hit. Saying that, I think the crucible should have 60fps without question. The crucible can take a graphics hit for all I care, but responsiveness is key.
-
No. How can you say that we'd ALL be happy if it was 900p and 60fps if you don't do a Poll? Do a Poll to see who wants 1080p 30fps and who wants 900p 60fps. You'll find that not everyone would want what you want.
-
As if they didn't contemplate all these ideas and theories before moving forward with programing. If the proposed 500 million dollars for this game is correct then they are well ahead of your statement. To produce a game on 2 different levels of quality would cost 2x as much. Destiny is launching on 9/9 and will be exactly as prescribed f'ing amazing! If you are not pleased with the final product please go elsewhere your taking up my bandwidth.

Edited by Mandingo: 7/30/2014 2:47:07 PMDon't call it Next-Gen if it ain't 60fps/1080p Don't call it Current-Gen if it ain't 60fps/1080p

How about a slight bump. 45fps???
-
This is wat fake gamers sound like 1080p 60fps or nothing bitch. This wat real gamers sound like we dont give a -blam!- cuz games are games and dont care If its fun

Edited by Holla00027: 7/30/2014 1:04:21 AMTo tell u the truth i dont think bungie are that good of devs to make that happen. I saw the ps3 version on my own tv and it looked horrible, it looked like Defiance at its worse while i know ps4 can crank out 60fps im not sure bungie knows how to do it.
