The current record for the longest time playing is just over 120 hours. That's 5 days of playing a single game. As of a few moments ago, I have officially put in a request to Guinness World Records to beat this record with Destiny. I will be testing my limits by not dying (or hallucinate, atrophy my muscles, get a blood clot, etc) and need some support! Who thinks this is a good idea? Bad idea? Insane?!?! I'm thinking I can go a full 7 days before my body collapses. My REAL challenge, however, is to get the Bungie crew involved. There are any number of ways to beat this record, but since I will more than likely have only one shot at this I need to make it special. How awesome would it be to beat the world record, of the most expensive and expansive game ever created INSIDE the studio that made it? C'mon, Bungie, throw a guy a bone! Not asking for much, but any support given from the DOC (Destiny Operations Center) would probably mean more than the GWR certificate to me.

-
Do it. No balls.

Go have fun Don't try to hard

I stayed up for a week once and I watched my hands go through the walls and tables I touched. I watched my hand morph into different shapes, for what seemed like ten minutes, two hours went by. My vision would switch between technicolor glow to old timey tv black and white, I could barley talk without speaking gibberish, my hearing cut out at times, my arms and legs were very cold, and my breath smelled like armpit BO x3. Don't do it unless you like hell.

The neckbeard is strong with you
doit
To everyone thinking this is a suicide mission, you CLEARLY have not lived enough to know what the real challenge here is. I will have breaks and time set aside to sleep, allbeit not a full nights rest. The true difficulty lies in being able to keep on the same game and not get bored.

I've seen a guy try to jump through 7 pieces of tempered glass in a row using his head and a trampoline, which is probably more reckless than this. Good luck :)
-
Lol. Gain those pounds, my friend!
Seriously, though, good luck lol.
Good luck!

i gotta say i beat this loads of times i suffer from chronic insomnia not sleeping for 5-8 days can be a normal thing for me anyway trust me i know cause once i get to 7 days i have to go to hospital to be put to sleep but all that aside im a gamer so what do i do when i get the bouts of not being able to sleep i play games. when mop came out on wow i played it for 6 days straight only taking some breaks to go for a walk to the shop and eat/drink ect.. but you are stupid for attempting this take it from me you have no idea how damaging sleep deprivation can be to your body im 27 year old and i look 40 i have had an heart attack and kidney/liver damage im not overweight or anything either its just form the insomnia for something as silly as this dont risk your health :)

You're insane!
But you have my full support!
Someone doesn't have a life.....
-
Do it! I have faith in you Guardian!
-
Sorry to tell you but there was a maintenance precise for 2 days so sorry that 5 days thing isn't happening
-
If you plan out everything right. Should be a cake walk.
-
YOU FRIKIN INSANE! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
-
It's not worth it man..... I've heard stories of people dying or being damaged from 24 hour plus video game marathons
-
Don't do it. It's not worth it.
-
Not to pull the curtain too far back, but there are breaks given when doing marathons. And if you choose not to take the break at that time, you can "store" them for later use. I believe it's 10 min/hour from what I read. So 6 hours of continuous playing = 1 hour break, etc. If not for these, no one could possibly make it past the 3 days mark without some serious side effects.

I think your health is more important than a world record. Anyway who am i to stop you? If you really want to attempt you, make sure the medical aid is within reach.
-
I say go for it, but then again I am an e-stranger. Perhaps you should be asking family, friends, and medical professionals.
-
You'll be fine. Your motor functions will slow and you may hallucinate, but beyond that 7 days won't have adverse effects on the body. Sleep deprivation isn't the killer it's really the organ failure that snuffs you out ( after prolonged lack of sleep aka many months). Pro tip: forget red bull and go for Folgers and put it in your lip like chewing tobacco. Your teeth will be blacker than a coal miner, but you won't be tired.

The Beta will give out before you do.
