So the voice work for the crucible announcer... It grates on everyone I know. It sounds like someone putting on a horrible accent. I can't take him telling me to kill my enemies and capture points seriously.
Anyone else feel the same way?

I must admit that I assumed the crucible commentator was a placeholder recording done by someone at Bungie who wasn't a professional voice actor. It flitted between overly grandiose and "Go bro!" in a really jarring manner.
-
No offense to any Brits, but I really hope they have a different one for download later on because I will pay to get rid of him.
-
I don't think it's bad, but it's certainly a step down from Halo. Destiny seems chock full of disappointing voice acting.

YES I always loved the announcer for Halo. How as you do better you can hear it in his voice. The excitement that is. This guy would watch you decimate your foes and take just enough time to put hit cup of tea down and wipe his mouth before spewing, bravo! No investment in your hard work. I feel I miss the personal attention the announcer gave. When he would witness your glory and tell you like it is, that your killing the kids your opponent haven't even given birth to yet because your hitting him so hard. He is boring and his accent sounds fake and forced. I don't like him.
-
I have to agree with this, I was just watching my clips from my time in the crucible and that voice drives me nuts, I hope they change it or give the option to at least turn it off
-
I like it, British people are cool.
-
I agree. Bring back the Halo matchmaking voice
-
I like it, being English might help with that. It helps emphasise on how Destiny is all about glory and honour: a very English ideal. Maybe there'll be a Snoop Dogg voice DLC...
-
I actually like his voice... I just want more voice overs for pvp.
-
It was one of those, if I'm winning its ok, if not I go "WARLOCK SMASH!"
-
I don't mind the voice. I obviously have fond memories of halos announcer saying OVERKILL!
on Valhalla sitting behind the downed pelican with a sniper, damn those were the days
No game quite got my heart pumping like halo 3 did. My mate told me every time the medals were announced that dopamine(sp?) was released into the brain. Now talk about addiction! I was hooked! Is there still double kill etc announcements in destiny? Most of the medals where cryptic to me.

-
The voice is very natural and the best I've heard in a long time. The accent is nice.
-
I thought it was Bill Nighy's voice when I first played it
-
I loved it, I like that it is under-stated and weighty, seeing your team drop in is so cool then - "Control. Alpha Team" - I'm pumped
-
I wish they would have used Austin Powers or Fat Bastard that would have been cool!
-
It's General Zod from Superman in 1978. He knows what he's doing.

Edited by Greaseball8600: 8/10/2014 6:45:55 PMNo way the Crucible voice is awesome, mainly cause he plays a character in The Walking Dead :)
-
I don't mind it
-
I love the crucible thing
-
I dislike the tone more than the accent. We are engaging in violence for the purpose of entertainment but he sounds upset. Like he may actually weep. He needs to get into it and be like '-blam!- YE, you control all points on the map! Boom!' or 'the enemy is dominating! get your ass in gear, nimrod' Maybe not those exact words but you get the idea
-
Serious lack of a Double Kill or generally personal announcements. Everything is just the round is almost over try harder or whatever. I'd tollerate the voice if he just told me when I had a Double Kill, that's all I want.
-
I think it sounds ok. Not as good as halo's, but much better than halo 4's. Halo 4's was horrendous
-
I felt like that at first. I like it now. No game will ever beat the halo announcer though
-
Nope. I love it. It sounds regal. It does get a little personal when you're losing terribly and he's all, "FIGHT BACK!" Me: I'm TRYING!!!
-
It's some old white dude sitting in a dilapidated chair commenting on all the activity. "Mutter, mutter... Zone C. Mumble... Zone B. Ah, ha, ha. The Crucible is no place for mercy. Send them home cryinggg."
