I said it during the alpha and I'll say it again. There is no need to use up 4 buttons on the controller for emotes. This is wasting prime real estate on the controller. Instead of having the d-pad buttons dedicated to emotes, why not dedicate them to something more useful? How about quick access to a map or flashlight? Or quick access to your sparrow or to go to the Tower? The most useless button is the Highlight Player button. All this does is open up an interaction menu with another player. This shouldn't need it's own special button. I should be able to just look at a player and hit the "activate/use" button (Square on PS4) to do the same thing. If it worked like that, you could make the Highlight Player button bring up a menu full of emotes and we could just choose one from a list. Having a list of emotes would mean you could potentially have more than 4 as well like a "Follow" command or "Wait Here". I seriously think Bungie needs to address this. Anyone else feel the same way?

You know what else would be nice? Being able to quickly cycle through other weapons depending on which weapon you have out. For example, if you have your primary weapon out, you could hit left or right on the D-Pad and quickly cycle through other primary weapons in your inventory or if you have a special weapon out, cycle through other special weapons. That way, you wouldn't have to open up your inventory screen and you could still see what's going on in the world.

I agree, the emotes are completely useless to me. Having said that, I would love for a flashlight and a map, even if it's just the same map where you choose missions or explore.

I like it how it is. I'd rather not have a map, it's nice to pull up your ghost once in a while when you need a ride, and I'd rather be able to do an emote on the spot than use a flashlight that activates automatically anyway. I'd have to remember to turn it off.

It would be nice if they had the down d-pad as the emote selection HUD, then have a map as the right, the sparrow as the left
