First impressions of the game are over all positive. It looks fantastic on my PS3 and I look forward to playing it on the PS4. The game play is solid and exciting. I love at how you can go from a badass fire fight into a darkly lit, if lit at all, hallway to be shortly attacked by the hive. That second mission where you first discover them is freaky as all hell. All this said I still have some gripes with my experience.
Firstly I would have to state that I'm not impressed with the lack of exposition in game about the different races. As a gamer who enjoys a good roleplaying game I find myself strangely un-invested in my character. This is only the beta though so perhaps the story and the connection to your character will be fleshed out in the final release of the game? One could only hope.
As I've seen in other threads, the difficulty with chatting with other players is frustrating in an online co-op game. I bought a cheap little headset a couple of weeks ago just so that I could participate in chat for this game so I am a little disappointed in how that's been handled.
And those are kinda the problems that have mostly impacted my game experiences. Little gripes I have include at how with the helmet on all the races look practically the same. Kinda takes away from choosing one over the other which takes me out of the game a little. A toggled flash light would be useful. Just read a thread about that and I'd have to agree.
But yeah. So I am really liking the game. The game play is solid. I don't know if it is just me, but I'd like to see more fleshing out of the characters and narrative if at all possible. I'm not really into the Grimoire system. And change up the character models a little. And that is all from me ^^

Oh and I don't like how we don't get to name our characters. Definitely am taken out of the experience when my identification is my PSN tag.
