Has anyone else noticed input lag? The time it takes to start moving/aiming seems much slower than Titanfall/halo/COD. I'm not sure if it's an initial slowness and then it speeds up? Yes I tried adjusting the controller sensitivity in the options. That does make a difference in the speed of movement but not in the time it takes to start moving. Just curious if others have noticed this as well and if it's a known thing that will be worked on for the final version.
**I should add that I'm experiencing this on Xbox One. Please comment what your vote is with your console type. Based on the responses it seems some are also experiencing it so it may be specific to a console.**
Update: the possibility of deadzones being too large would make sense as the cause as well.

BUMP. this is still a problem i think. albeit most players are probably used to it by now. but playing other games is now very hard, cos the controller look movement is so much faster, in all other fps games. i dont get the "slow beginning of a movement" that then speeds up. it should be constant. so much better

I notice it on Xbox One but not on Xbox 360. I think it has to do with the dead zone on the Xbone controllers as others are saying. I really hope Bungie provides a way get the same experience on both consoles. For now I'm sticking with X360 because even though the gfx aren't as good, the lag is too much to handle in MP.

Edited by PapaCap: 7/23/2014 8:48:42 PMComing over to show some support. I think the issue is with the dead zone though, they just made them too large. So within a certain radius on the sticks it will move/look at a slower pace, and once you get out of that dead zone it accelerates. The issue is the larger the dead zone the harder it is to hit your mark, particularly with shooters. Developers need to realize that if you're going to make a shooter then make the dead zone on the sticks as small as possible so you don't have to crank the stick all the in one direction just to get the pointer where you want it, when you want it.

I have input lag due to my TVs. So I have it no matter what game I play.

There is definitely an input lag, im hoping its just because its a beta client though but it could be the deadzones, i notice it with my strafing as well i need to push the stick almost to their max to get motion, smaller deadzone or an option to change them manually would be nice.

What TV do you have and how is your console connected? It's not the game, the problem is somewhere in your connected hardware. TV is the likely problem, most have very bad input lag (flat screens)

Edited by elementf89: 7/23/2014 7:58:39 PMYes this game has terrible motion lag. I use a Benq with 1ms response time, a monitor that was used for Halo in MLG. I can definitely feel motion lag in Destiny and it is VERY disappointing to say the least. Titanfall and Battlefield both feel smooth on my monitor, Destiny feels very sluggish. Just my honest input.

No lag here. . . sorry you're having problems.

All I notice is when I look left or right it seems to move a little slow to start. Sensitivity set to 10. I would say different games set different.
-
Try turning on game mode on your tv.
-
If you have a yes/no opinion do you feel it's a slow movement and gets faster or it just doesn't respond quick enough?
-
Camera/Aiming movement seems really sluggish even on higher sensitivities and then accelerates at the worst time...that's what I have noticed, just didnt feel comfortable controlling my character.
-
To my knowledge, input lag has nothing to do with the game.

I'm in the middle of south pacific and there's no noticeable lag. Even against sepiks 1 when shots coming from everywhere, no weird kill, freeze... Great job Bungie, you have to add PS3 and PS4 in HALO5 !!!
