That spider tank has a ton of ways to kill you, But I've noticed that the most annoying gun by far is the one mounted on the side of the main cannon that shoots several blue explosive energy bolts in rapid succession after a brief charge up period.
You can shoot that gun right off the tank. after enough focused fire, it just pops off. after that the tank is MUCH less threatening. you no longer need to cower in fear.
So this is a message to all of you who like playing The Devil's Lair. shoot that gun off ASAP to make the rest of the fight easier. It goes way faster when you have all three guardians focusing their fire on that gun.

My last strike mission I ended up finding that out. I laughed when it popped off like it was nothing. Unfortunately the other weapons don't pop off off...as far as I know.

If you are facing the walker, run down the right side of map and there is a bump that leads down to a tunnel that is a great area to snipe legs because it's near impossible for the walker to kill you and when the legs break and his neck comes out it's a quick run down the tunnel to get close, but there are mobs that randomly spawn behind you, I normally have my fireteam mates post up in the middle and the left side so the walker is always moving, exposing his legs.

Just cap way far away and scout rifle/snipe it... when it shoots, just hide... easy

Yep I discovered this trick Friday. It definitely helps to decrease the amount of soft cover humping required for that particular gun.
