I'll be more aware of this tonight to see consistency but latency creeping into the PvP system is making things unpredictable.
* Shot around the corner, guys not there but he died.
* Happens vs versa, ducked behind a wall during firefight died.
* Melee fights. I died but within a moment of my kill screen the opponent also died due to lagged melee to him. This happened routinely, to me or to my opponent.
* Reticule missed shots finding their marks of guardians jumping through the area. Obvious miss on my part but it tagged them.
I'm sure you have better analytics on this but these issues will firestorm over time if the latency/synchronization of hit detection doesn't tighten down 500ms or more.

Bungie only has one server in the US, so pretty much everyone outside of the US is disadvantaged.

Dear Bungie, I wish you made me aware of the terrible server quality i would have while trying to play Destiny BEFORE i spent the AUD$99.95 on your game. If you are going to sell a game in all parts of the world then you should at least allow for better servers in the countries you sell the game in. A crazy idea came to me the other day would you like to hear it. I assume you would. How about you spend some of that 500 million dollars you keep talking about on some better servers here in Australia i don't think its too much to ask. Or maybe just take on board what some other games have done and allow users to purchase/rent their own servers like BF3 did so that everyone who would like to play can select a playlist that has the lowest possible ping instead of being constantly matched with Americans where we have around 300-600 ms of ping. You always say that you take on board what the community says so how about paying attention to this part of the community.

Thank you for posting this.I have encountered this to many times. I shoot a guy and no damage is being dealt. I shoot a guy and no damage is being dealt until after I'm dead. I melee a guy to kill him and he dies only for him to still be able to melee me as well. Even though I threw the first blow. I am running like 100mbs and still this stuff happens.

this seems to vary in severity and is extremely frustrating lasting for the majority of a match when present. there is a lag between when you shoot no matter what weapon and when it actually hits. it varies in length too. Worst of all THIS WAS PRESENT IN THE BETA AND IS STILL PRESENT IN THE FINAL GAME!!!!!

Necro, because this post is still relevant! It is bad. Like, really bad. I don't even want to go into the PvP thingie because off all of the issues, and their compounded build up. Worst is being Meleed to death after emptying a clip into a player at range and then getting a postmortem medal. Think something needs to be dome about this, soon.

I have many of these issues. 100 mbps dl and nearly 20 mbps upload as measured by Xbox network details. Definitely some net code or regional matchmaking issues. I have open NAT and port forwarding configured. 6v6 should not have these issues.

I love how 3 shots with a sniper won't kill people. That's probably my favorite part. Oh, and you definitely can't snipe someone while jumping because you know.. stuff

This is why I play crucible as little as possible, coming from a PC shooter background this games netcode/servers are unacceptable.

If I notice a certain player displaying signs of lag repeatedly, I report them. I suggest everyone here do the same. I've noticed that after I report a lagger in game, they don't typically end up in the next match. Thank goodness for the Wasp error code. It seems to be keeping 3G/4G/LTE users out of Bungie's servers. I hope this continues. Tethered cell phones and WiFi hot spots are not acceptable internet connections for online gaming when it comes to PvP.

I think a lot of bladedancers being op comes from the netcode issues. I don't think any other super can take advantage of laggy hit-detection better. I've seen plenty of times where when I attack one, they don't register being hit or they gain their heal for killing me before my damage registers.

It's because Bungie is catering to the lowest common denominator in terms of internet with their "lag compensation". Which MEANS EVERYONE suffers because they wanted to make sure people with 1mbs speeds and netflix running in the other room can still play. In truth the lag compensation helps the lagger.

Could someone from Bungie explain to us why the lag issues seem to be getting worse in the crucible? I have 60Mbs DS 14 Mbs US and a 10ms ping time to Seattle. Yet in Crucible the vast majority of my kills are Post Mortems because none of my damage ever registers until a good 2 seconds after it should have been. I have all the relevant ports forwarded and I don't get any of the common Destiny connection errors. But the visible lag in crucible matches is so bad that I just can't stand to play it anymore.

These exact issues are still present to date and they are extremely off putting. I still win matches and top charts but it's so annoying I'm not sure how much longer I can stand to even bare to play.

Its the lag compensation thats causing this crap Same major problem with uncharted 3 multiplayer that never got fixed. It was far worse there to the point where laggy foreigners were gods with extra health and killed u insanely fast. Even after they died. Naughty dog never fixed it and yes even the forums were blowing up with the bs that was getting killed around corners, late kills, deaths, traded kills, hit detection, disappearing shots etc... It can & will fudge up pvp here if left alone. No joke, any1 who is a u3 vet can tell u about the constant lag & issues never addressed by ND However latency overall was higher in u3

I can't even play crucible. Quarter to half match and I get kicked. Fine in pve multiplayer tho. Need to get this stuff fixed. Love the game but I only get to play half of it

yep, this has been happening to me too constantly. PvP is DEAD in this game if it stays like this on release. It has been happening in the alpha too, it's exactly the same as in beta.
