I always have to push the touch pad to display the on-screen waypoint markers during a mission. The waypoint market then disappears after about 15 seconds and I have to continuously push the pad again to display it. By default, the radar always shows an arrow pointing towards my objective, but I find the additional waypoint markers very helpful.
ALSO:
Distance to the waypoint should also be on display next to the marker, exactly how it displays when you push the touch pad in explore mode to indicate the nearest missions. Knowing the distance to the waypoint makes everything much more intuitive. Just my opinion.
I would at least like to see a toggle for these options, if not having them become default.
By the way... I freaking love this game already, thank you bungie <3

True. With futuristic tech and gps. Need I say more

No. I hate games that are always telling you where to go. This games waypoints already do that but at least you have to press a button for the hint where to go. Fine the way it is.
-
I disagree. This is meant to be an open world game. I like stopping halfway through a mission and just effing around and killing the fallen. Our even stopping and searching for loot. This is my opinion of course.

We CAN place wayponits?

+1 on toggle mode.

yes i have the same problem! Fix this bungie! pleaseee

Edited by TheWowso: 7/20/2014 1:29:23 PMAlways on would be annoying. Toggle is better.

Edited by Sirius Tokerius: 7/20/2014 8:59:18 AMA toggle function would be cool, that could accomidate those who want it on and those who prefer to keep it off.

Agreed need waypoints. People get lost.
-
nah, no distances. we want the exploration experience to be unique, not "oh great, 100m that way, i know exactly where it is now". that takes the fun away from it!

Edited by FarawaySkies: 7/19/2014 10:10:49 PMI actually had an idea for this. Would be nice if you could tap the touchpad like you do to bring up waypoints and then depending on which one your facing with the ghost/waypoints still up, you face the waypoint you want to go to and then press and hold the touchpad to lock on the waypoint. Then this particular waypoint doesn't go away until you reach it or select a new one/leave zone or you could open the menu again with touchpad and then press and hold to deselect it (thought i might add that bit in case it wasn't obvious). Another thing to consider is that some way points are parts of quest which go away when you arrive to it and appear in new location. If you were locked on to one of these types of waypoints it would only make sense that the game automatically locked you onto every consecutive waypoint until the mission is over with. Also a distance in meters from the waypoint is brilliant. If these were added by launch id be ecstatic. Because of my ADHD I'm constantly getting sidetracked fighting useless mobs because I forgot to tap the touchpad again to see where the waypoint is that keeps disappearing.

Having to click the middle button every 30 seconds gets old.
