I've been reading up on Interstellar travel, and I came a cross this-

I'm very skeptical, but I do like the idea of advancement when it comes to space travel. In the article, it states that the spacecraft would use the Alcubierre drive theory.
What do you guys think of this? Do you think humans will ever make Interstellar/Intergalactic travel possible?

If it's going to happen, the estimates don't look very promising. I've heard fairly reliable estimates at thousands of years. I have my fingers crossed for incredible breakthroughs.

We need to colonize Mars first.

Edited by ELEMENTAL: 7/14/2014 7:09:35 AMI wonder how long it'll take, before we start leaving Earth and colonizing. I think it'll happen eventually, though probably not within my lifetime.

Makes sense even in space if something with a physical substance were to travel the speed of light it would probably fall apart.

Huh. Looks like a giant Shaw-Fujikawa Slipspace Engine.

Human? No.

I think that we first have to get past our name brand scientists telling us its OK to be sending probes instead of manned missions.
