Improved storytelling for Halo and gave chief emotions that made him closer to us, more than Bungie ever did? Me too.

Implying it's still not a terrible story written by someone in middle school.
-
You mean turn chief into a emo crybaby instead of a badass?
-
Edited by Forever Berg: 7/14/2014 6:46:25 PMHeaven forbid people want to play video games and use their imagination with the main character. Being a silent badass is a lot better than "CURTANA I LOVE YOU CURTANA I CAN FEELZ YOU, MR CHEF OH NO WATCH OUT FOR DARTH DIDACT HE GOIN TO FORCE CHOKE YOU. OH NOOOEEE CURTANA BABIEZ PLS DUN GO I LUV U CURTANA NO DUN GO CURTANA I WILL PRESS DA X BUTTEN TEN TIMES 2 FITE IN YOUR HONOR"

No, 343 sucks, also 100th post
-
Actually, what I remember is selling the game a couple weeks after release because I hated it so much.
-
Actually chief was built up to this character by the end of halo 3 not halo 4. Halo 3 is the game where chief risks everything (including the fate of the human race) in order to save cortanna. Halo 4 in my opinion did nothing good for the story of this series. They killed one of my favorite characters
cortanna
. They treated Halsey who is one of the most interesting and important characters in the series like total shit. They made the spartan program a joke. They added new aliens that where not in any way interesting. Also halo 4 mp was just terrible

Edited by The Lizardo: 7/14/2014 2:30:01 PMRemember when they made Halo a generic space opera with a love story between a computer and a robot? And added a cartoony super-villain with an unsatisfying boss fight and bullet sponge minions? And retconned the Elites joining the humans? Me too.

Edited by MrR46: 7/14/2014 1:03:37 PMRight, that's why the video game industry exists. For storytelling. There are these things called movies. You sobbing teenage girls might be interested in looking into them. Or just keep holding that deathgrip on the one lone crutch you have to defend 343's horrible work to this point.
-
Halo 4 was the first of the series I never felt compelled to finish. Didn't even make it half way through.
-
Its hard to remember something that didn't happen.
-
No, I don't.
-
To each their own, I didn't ask for AmIManOrMachineCortanaDon'tGoCHief. So,to me,I remember when they ruined a character.
-
Edited by Tyger: 7/14/2014 12:49:11 PMI remember when Johnson died I expected chief to be all sad and want revenge and shit but instead he was just like "lol nigga got to go, come on arby you're my new best friend"
-
Remember when 343 ruined the multiplayer?
-
Remember when they ruined Halo?

Negative
-
I only remember....REACH....
-
I do....it came at the cost of gameplay, and backstory for the situation you are in, and what players remember from the last game. Should have been a book!
-
remember when they made a horrible halo multiplayer?
-
Edited by Omega Riddler: 7/14/2014 9:59:06 PMHalo Combat Evolved was more like a tech showcase that showed how shooters could work on console, Halo 2 showed how online could work on console and Halo 3 was the chance for the story to shine, by that time there wasn't really that much space for chief to show emotion. Not to mention the fact they had to focus on building a new engine for xbox 360.
-
Edited by BandCoconutMarty: 7/14/2014 6:36:35 AMYes because I'm not a blind Bungiefag who jerks to everything they make. Halo 4's multiplayer was shit but its story was 10/10.
-
Oh yes I remember everyday.
-
This thread is cancer. And like cancer, there is no known cure for it.
-
Read the books pleb. Chief was always Human inside.
