IMO, you should hang out at the party with your best friend. You'll have plenty of time to play the Destiny Beta, but you'll never know how long your best friend will be around. [spoiler] Plus it would be kinda dickish to bail or even skip on your friend's party just to play a game. [/spoiler]

I'd say go out to the birthday party. It's not like the beta won't be waiting for you to tear into it after you get home.

If he/she is your best friend, they'll understand your need to play Destiny and not put on pants to go to their house. They'll [probably] have more birthdays, the Beta only happens once.
