Project Noah

For anybody that enjoys animals, or frequently takes pictures of wild animals they encounter and would like to document them, i give you Project Noah. The best and most simple way to explain what Project Noah is this: Project Noah is a tool to explore and document wildlife and a platform to harness the power of citizen scientists everywhere. Although i will go into detail about what it is fully. Basically what Project Noah, is a website and app (for android and apple, basic layout of the app here ), that lets you document organisms that you see in the wild. It can be anything from the Morel mushroom in your backyard, to a Timber rattlesnake that you take a picture of (i recently snapped a picture of one of these bad boys), or a ant on your driveway. After you take a picture(s) of the organism, you can fill out information for it. Such information includes; mammal/reptile/bird/arthropod, the organisms common and scientific name, notes about the organism, and even a wikipedia link to add so you can have instant access to information about it. But even if you don't know what an animal is, you can still snap a picture and upload it, as there is a button that is called "help me identify" and it allows others to see this organism with the name "unknown" and allows them to suggest a species for that organism (i'v had to use this several times). Missions While you are filling out the information you will see a place called "missions". Missions are groups of specific organisms that people want to group together. Like i put my Timber Rattlesnake in the missions "Dangers of the southeast" and "Snakes of the southeast". This lets people group similar organisms together. I encourage anyone that constantly takes pictures of animals to do this, as it is not only a fun way to keep track of what animals you see, but to also share them with others, and allows you to see new animals you have never seen.
