can you quickscope in destiny
hello fellow gaurdiangs i am just wonder if you can quickscope in destiny, because it is my favourite thing to do in my other favourite shooter, cod
i just dont think it would be a good fps game without quickscoping so i think it needs to be in the game what do you think

Edited by HG x SkyHigh: 10/14/2014 1:46:36 AMSure you can, and you can sing while doing it too :D I never fancied a sniper in CoD, but with Destiny somehow I'm lovin it, and I'm finding the quickscoping to be a challenge, the better you get the more satisfying. This is a clip of my last quickscope today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWJyBw-whOI I like doing it to take off enough health to either melee or finish them off with a few more bullets. I'm not running around trying to quickscope everything but in the right situation, it's a good technique.

Quickscoping is having faster than normal reflexes with good accuracy while predicting the path of player movements. If u got used to ghosts quickscoping with no reticle, then it should feel similar here. Except unless u get a headshot or aim in on damaged opponents, then it won't be an instant kill. Its usually just easier to finish them off with another weapon or melee after if they still live with what lil health they have Choose a decent scope, memorize the ads speed with quick perks activated, know all the rushers traffic areas, and u can wreck many ppl. Of course if they have bad aim, are slow, predictable, and give u plenty of time to deal damage its their fault XD theyll just say you're a cheater when all u did was show a skill gap

It's possible, but I'll tell you, it takes way more skill then CoD. Most CoD players on this game run shot guns cause they're so used to playing an unskillful, easy, unbalanced game. They come and they infect the game with their BK disease. I urge you to attempt quick scoping in this game or at least grow proficient in sniping. We don't need any more bad kids tuning with shot guns and fusion rifles as primaries.

Oh yeah, the controls are smooth as butter, you'll have no problem. Just choose hunter, they're best with snipers.

14 RepliesAnyone who mentions CoD needs to shut it. Quick-scoping has ALWAYS been in Bungie's games. I have never seen one complaint about it until now So please explain why it is bad for it to be in Destiny, but fine in all the Halos.

There is an ADS function geared to the left trigger (default layout), so I don't see why you couldn't try to use that mechanic. As it being an effective strategy, I myself cannot say.

Never understood the fascination with quick scoping. Even the best quick scopers were a simple nuisance on CoD that did little more than maybe mess up a kill streak. As for a team contribution I hated having them on a team. Rarely did they contribute in any way. Most often going negative in results.

Not crazy jump shots like that. If you watched any of Ninja's alpha livestream, he talked about attempting jump shots with snipers. He'd put the reticle right on the head but the game wouldn't give it to him because the game drastically reduces the accuracy of the weapon when you jump.

The kind of quick scoping you're looking for should be in the new CoD at the end of the year. I'm sure it's somewhat possible in this game, but I doubt it'd be any effective as it is in CoD games

4 RepliesI never liked the extreme impracticality of quick scoping in games. The idea that you could steady a gun with a barrel 2 feet long and not even waver is just bluntly... ridiculous. Using a weapon meant for long distance ambush 10 feet from a moving target is just stupid. Not only that... It can OHKO making it nearly impossible to counteract someone with that specific skill. We don't need something that resembles CoD so much in destiny.

The sniper rifle should not be affected in any way just to prevent someone from being able to quick scope. If you really complain about people quick scoping you need to re evaluate your life. Let some people be creative and have fun with the damn video game. Not to mention it's only a one shot one kill if it's a headshot! If Bungie really targets the sniper community and prevents people from being able to quick scope, they're gonna lose a lot of respect from a large community. We (the sniper community) are a loyal community just like the rest of you who have played FPS's, so for you to think they should not let people quick scope is truly irrational and just displays your childish mindset. And don't even start talking about what's realistic and what's not. Foh baddies.
