Never going to end, but Ill try nicely this time

Console wars, the constant bad-mouthing, these things will never end. I came across a post that tried its best to explain why Bungie fans are really upset. It wasn't hateful, it was, professional. I still did not agree with it though, and I responded to it. I have received quite a few likes from this, so I thought instead of keeping it buried in another thread, I would start one in regards to Bungie's "betrayal." I have copied and pasted my post, just as it was. And will add on to it at the end. "100% of the time I have been a giant asshole to the people who feel the way you do, only because of the ignorant, selfish blinding hate spewed at Bungie. This time, I am going to try to approach this in a non-asshole way to see if this makes sense, and to not be an asshole this time. I will state my beliefs in this, explaining how there is no betrayal, and how this extra content is really not that big of a deal." "I do not agree. First, if Bungie had made Halo, and it was not that great, the fanbase on the Xbox wouldn't be here. So the argument that the Xbox community built Bungie I think is incorrect (if we can, completely incorrect.) Bungie busted their ass on a game that was a console exclusive for MS, due to a deal with MS. They created a masterpiece, from their vision, time, dedication, hardwork, etc. People dropped their money on Halo because it was good, not because they wanted to support Bungie. Bungie needed to get reimbursed for their hard work. And they cannot live off of sunshine, farts, and happieness either while making these games." "Second. The general thought is, the Sony community is not used to a Bungie game. There has not been a Bungie game on a Sony console since Oni, which was met with mixed to positive reviews, nothing like Halo. That was 13 or 14 years ago. So, Bungie wants to create something for a much wider group of people. They have more work to do on the Sony side. So this is how they do it." "Third. Bungie states that Sony's "vision" is pretty much the same as Bungie's. MS is going in a different direction, and is not. The Bungie / Activision - Sony partnership is born. If I am in a band, and I hire a producer that knows how I want my music to sound, I will go with them, not the one who wants me to write a completely different style of music that is not what I want to do. I want to write complicated pieces like Motzart, not mindless simple shit like lady gaga." "Fourth. Sony money is helping make this game even better, and Xbox players probably are going to get some of those improvements from that extra money (even thought they may not notice it.) Bungie and Activision could have made more exclusive content, and made it not timed, but this is not the case. And Sony paid to have this, so us PS owners didn't have to to get the extra content. Bungie could have made significant permanent exclusive content, and they did not." "And on a somewhat separate note, the Beta. It's a Beta. Stuff does not carry over after the Beta. This extra piece is not all that special. The way I see it, its 4 more days to get cooler stuff that you cannot use just to have it disappear. And the rest of the content is timed. Even if it does wind up being a year, it still comes to Xbox after a year, and the game is equal." "These partnerships are everywhere, Ubisoft has one with MS for The Division and AC. Its nothing new. It just happened to go the direction Halo fans did not want this time. That is really all. I don't think Bungie owes anyone anything. They make great games that they give us the opportunity to play. And they need to be reimbursed for the time, effort, and resources put into these games." "The success of Halo was from their blood, sweat, tears, and bank accounts, not from Xbox and Halo fan's dedication. Had Halo turned out to be shit, this would not be an issue. No acknowledgement necessary.Halo fan's dedication." I also want to add, that yes, I know customers are required for business, but back to my original point, Bungie created their masterpiece, which we were allowed to share with them because of them. That to me is the thanks. And, we don't know what kind of partnership Sony has with Bungie / Activision, but I would assume Sony doesn't like Bungie mentioning Xbox. I wouldn't if I just handed them a ton of money to make some exclusive content for my customers.
