Might be switching to ps4 but I need some advice.

So I'm thinking that I might be able to switch to ps4 from xbox 360 at least financially. I know there are a ton of you that have switched. So I was wondering what it's like to switch from the 360 controller to the playstation controller. In the past, I have really hated playstation controllers, but is the DS4 any better? Any advice would be really helpful.

  • The DS4 is far better than the DS3. It has nice comfortable gripping material, the analog sticks are on par with the 360, D-pad is excellent and smooth, the triggers very sturdy and most fingers fit nicely when using them. I also think the additions are pretty neat, the lightbar, touchpad, and speaker. Although the battery life is despicable. Since I went over the DS4 controller I might as well go over the XB1 controller too, as I find it a bit better in a number of areas. The ergonomics are amazing, I find it to more slide into your hands than just grabbing it and holding it, it feels tight, like you have control over every little thing you do. The analog sticks may feel weird for a bit, or you might not be as good with them as the previous system, but once you spend a sizable amount of time with them you get to realize how much room of motion there is and how precise they are in comparison to other gamepads, I have never been able to aim so accurately when playing shooters for example, because I have so much control over the sticks. The d-pad is solid, it gives a satisfying click with each press. The buttons are bigger but more shallow, so you can hit them a bit better. Triggers re the best I have ever seen on a controller, your fingers come up and curve onto them and the haptic motors in them really add to the game. The best examples thus far are Forza and Watch_Dogs. The battery life is astonishing. And as for the bumpers, they are a bit hard to press down, but that is about it. You really can't go wrong either way.
