Everybody has problems. From all of our own perspectives we have mountains to climb or move. And every last one of us will find our own way of dealing with them, for good or bad. But above all else, there is one important thing to remember, always. Everything happens for a reason. Every good day, every bad day. We are creatures of a singular perception of time, and that is the present. But when we look to the past, everything was meant to happen, because the simple act of it happening cements it in history as destiny. Every event, no matter how small in your past is what made you who you are today. Every event, in your parent's pasts is what made them who they are, and is in turn what caused you to be who you are. This sequence of events goes on since we have existed. These events existed before we as a species ever lived, right down to the very formation of our planet, our star, our system, and the events that preceeded even those. Remove any one of these events, displace any one of them, and what you are today is lost. You may not exist. Or you may still. But it wouldn't be the person you are now. Perhaps close, but not as you are today. Although we can only look ahead into the future a little ways, we can only guess where things will lead, but we do not have the foresight to even see what lies ahead of us even a few days from now, much less a few years or decades. But you can take heart from it all. If I had not gone through every single bad day of my life, which there were a lot of, I would not be sitting here as the person I am, with all my faults and joys. As would any of you here. It may have taken years for me to reach this spot in time, where I have a semblance of happiness and a life worth living, but in the end every one of those days was worth it. And, who knows, far down the line, as those days grow dimmer and dimmer in memory, their happenings will still continue to affect my life, and eventually, after my passing, they will affect my friends, my loved ones, my family, even my kids if I ever have any, which in turn will continue onwards without end. The present is a harsh reality to live in often. We feud over the past and what we could have done differently, or what we should have. We worry about the looming shadows in our future that may crush us, beat us down to nothing if we don't stand up and do something about it in the here and now. But take comfort. For every bad day, there will be good days. For every good day, there will be bad days. And many times, there will be a lot of bad days where you just want to beat your head against a wall, and give up, right then and there, and make everything stop. But you shouldn't. You should continue forward, regardless of what you face, and one day, sooner or later down the line, you will have one good day that will make everything you went through worth it. And through your experiences, you will influence others, your friends, your family, and maybe in due time your own children. Every one of your actions or inactions has an outcome, and an effect that goes on forever. So take heart. You are not alone in your fight. You are not alone in your dark pit with no light. You are not alone in the obstacles that you face in the present, or what looms in the future. You get up, and do the best that you can within your power to change things, and you keep going, because there will be a day that will make everything behind you worth it, and suddenly, your worst days were neccessary to reach the best days.

Life ain't nothing but a big ol' bully, and that's the truth.

Can I just remember that the line is "So, we learn how to get back up" and go back to being depressed instead?
