Hello Community,
as I played through the alpha, there were many times when my fireteam didn't get it, that you can shoot that Spidertank into bits and peaces.
All of them would only go straight for the legs, then it's neck. Didn't anyone else notice that you can shoot the laserbomb-cannon off of it? (not the big one, the blue 4 shot homing one!) - It just made the fight SO MUCH EASIER. Also were there several other bodyparts you could damage and reduce the effectiveness, like the backside or the mouth-gatling.
Any experience with other weakpoints from other enemies?
Greetings.
€dit: It's great how responsive you all are. Thanks! And for those who wonder what I mean by Spidertank: it's the Devil Walker. Bungie called it Spidertank at a time and it surely looks like one, so cheers!

Beta was bae

Yup I knew about this made some encounters with the spider tank a lot easier.

-
Had no idea

Been playing since week one. Did not know this.
-
Someone gave this a big necrobump
-
Sure, but it's still faster to just shoot the legs and not get caught out in the open.

Necro bump?

Bump :)

On nightfall burns a sniper to that top arc cannon takes about 2-3 mags to destroy and takes 2/3 of the life off with it!

Leave me alone :(

I knew this (thanks to a previous post) but have yet to try in on the cabal tank. You can also shoot the guns off of fallen drop ships. If you continue to shoot the front opening once the guns are gone it flashes white (indicating area specific damage) have never managed to take another part off of it but am curious what would happen if multiple guardians focused all firepower at it all together?

With the devil walker when it opens its compartments where the shanks come out you can throw grenades into the hole and the grenade will blow up inside it doing significantly more damage. Found this out on accident when the timing just somehow lined up. I thought it was nuts you could do that!
-
Not sure if this is relevant, but you can shoot guns off fallen dropships. There are also two spots, one behind each gun arm that can be damaged, but I don't know what effect destroying those has.
-
I would just shoot at whatever appears to be doing the most damage. White numbers compared to yellow numbers.
-
This is all you need to know... 1: Get Ice Breaker. 2: Find a nice vantage point far away from everyone. 3: Shoot Legs. 4: ???? 5: Stop trying to make this more difficult than it is. 6: ???? 7: Shoot his exposed neck. GG.

Isn't it slower when you can just dodge it.
-
....You can????? COOL!

i put a lot of rounds into the dw's various limbs but i never got the arc cannon disabled. the first time i saw the side hatch open i was sure that if i could time a grenade into it that I'd be rewarded with a big chunk of its life bar or maybe even an alternate fall down animation. was disappointed when i got neither. I'm really hoping there are more ways to interact with the enemies (not just bosses) in the final build than what we saw in the beta. man, if the bladedancer ran circles around the thing and cleaned up the fallen while the defender drew aggro from behind the wall of light to distract it so that when it did deploy the shivs the warlock could fly in dump a void grenade or a nova bomb into the open hatch and then fly/ blink out and then your teamwork is rewarded by a whole side of the dv just getting obliterated by the grenade? man I'd probably have stood up and cheered. I'm not saying every boss has to be a zelda boss but i hope they're not all sepkis prime bullet sponges.

I stopped doing this when I realized it was so much faster to just ignore it and work on legs/neck.
-
yeah i found weak points on almost all Bosses, to sum it up find a spot they can't shoot you and unload all bullets. easiest way to beat bosses.

It's definitely useful in nightfall to shoot it off.
