This was the first time I ever got a phone call from "Microsoft"
They said that the computers in our house cannot update anymore and they wanted to help me fix it. The person had a thick Indian accent and he really did sound like a fraud.
I actually asked him if he knew my IP, and he said no. I then questioned him and told him he was not from Microsoft and that he did not know shit about my computer. I even told him all my computers are working fine.
This absolutely scared the shit of me and it was the first time in my life it ever happened. They called my house first, and then my cell. It was annoying.
Me: Hello?
Him: Hello, your computers are having trouble updating and I would like to help you fix them.
Me: *confused* How do you know about my computers?
Him: Your computers might need updates to prevent future viruses.
Me: Sir, I just asked you how you know about my computers.
Him: I am with Microsoft.
Me: No, you are not.
Him: Yes I am.
Me: Ok, what is my ip then?
Him: *clueless* we are not the ip team.
Me: Thought so. I hate to be mean to you sir, but I can actually detect this is a fake call.
Him: I am with Microsoft.
Me: This is an unknown number and you are very suspicious.
Him: We can help you.
Me: I do not want your help, arsehole.
*hangs up*
3 hours later the same thing happens on my cell.
Me: HELLO?
Him: Hello, I am with Microsoft.
Me: How did you get my cell number? Are you that bored with life that you have to call my cell also?
Him: We never called you before.
Me: Oh dear god, just -blam!- off.
I hang up.
So yep, I was scared at first.
It has been going on recently all over the world. Strange that I was a late victim.
