I'll give us about another thousand years. If we make it that far of course.

1 day
-
Over 9,000 years
-
A year
-
I'd bet 200 years
-
It will take a while.
-
What is the first intelligent species you implied?
-
Ideally? Within the next year so I can get my turian bf. Realistically? Probably never.
-
1082 years
-
Too long.

Edited by XSEAN : 7/1/2014 2:42:57 AMWell if Nasa can get a prototype built and get faster then light travel discovered hopefully 100 years Not fake image that how she will look
-
Edited by SomeGuy: 7/2/2014 7:46:26 AMDo you mean traveling to their planet or communicating through space?
-
I hope soon. I'm starting to think we may already have though. Perhaps some small evidence that our governments have kept from us for years. I mean all those UFO sightings and no one wants to think "hey maybe those aren't fake?" I don't know Flood. I'm no Indiana Jones 4 stoopid over here, but maybe there is some rogue space faring race studying us.

Edited by BioAwoo: 6/30/2014 8:31:45 AMIf we find: Asari Volus Quarian <3 Turian <3 Elcor Hanor Krogan Salarian Or Drell.... Maybe Geth... I'll be happy.

Edited by Old King Arren: 7/1/2014 4:15:20 AMAssuming they don't find us, there are a few factors to consider (and more I didn't state): When we get to our space age If technology allows us to make contact before we find them in person When we start exploring other goldilocks planets When we develop technology to either bend space-time or store ourselves so we can get to said places without generations of inbreeding (not to mention harmful radiation exposure) ... Whenever humanity decides to focus on space exploration seriously... It doesn't look good in terms of time, we're talking thousands of, to at worst, millions of years. And by Drake's equation for other intelligent forms of life, we should already see signs of other civilizations... But we don't, and that's it's own kind of ominous.
-
For us to find them, or for them to find us? For us to find them I think it may take a hundred years or so, maybe a couple hundred. First we need to develop the technology to efficiently travel the universe and that takes years for a short trip. For them to find us it could happen tomorrow for all we know
-
Any time we probably already did the government is probably hiding it
-
Finding another suggests we've found one before. I'm quite certain humanity has never had contact with an intelligent species.
-
Long time.

Xenomorphs, game over man!

Edited by JayKayGee: 6/30/2014 10:51:17 PMYou're a commie!!!

Well dolphins have language and are known tool users. Who says intelligent life forms must be from space?
-
So long and thanks for all the fish!
-
500-1000 years, minimum. We'll need starships capable of traversing MASSIVE distances in a very short time. Radio waves are pretty much useless for galactic communication.
-
They're already here
-
800 years

Only once you defeat communism.
