One thing that I didn't like in Halo is that you drowned instantly in water( besides in Halo 1, you could drive vehicles in water) but I hope that in Destiny that you could go underwater and explore reefs and look at fish, that would be very exciting because I love fish and coral so I would be underwater most of the time and explore the water.
I would love to have sharks in the ocean as well so that I could avenge my grandpa who was killed by Tiger Sharks which are know for purposefully killing and eating humans. :-(

you can't swim in the alpha
-
Only if I can customize my swimming. Personally, I prefer the breaststroke

All I'm saying is, water better not kill me

Edited by Caraweezey: 6/25/2014 12:04:30 PMIf I'm going through guardian boot camp and can't swim I should be immediately disqualified from the program. Also weapons jam after being submerged in the water for too long.... Then again this is a game

In Halo 3 you could walk under water >.>

Edited by Stygian Mole: 6/25/2014 12:07:32 PMAs an underwater archaeologist irl, I am hugely in favour of submerged sections (exploring crashed ships, lost cities, hidden caverns) but they would have to be VERY well implemented so I doubt it. Also, it's not the shark's fault that it kills what it means to kill, it's just well evolved. It would rather have had a seal but if there are only humans about (not to mention that the ocean is ITS habitat) and it's hungry, then bad luck you.
Tiger Sharks which are know for purposefully killing and eating humans
So are humans ;)

The only thing swimming in a Bungie game is your ankles. Anything higher is suicide.

I mean you are so -blam!-ing stupid that you couldn't even possible understand how dumb you sound. Please just delete your account and then get an education you dumb -blam!-

Mario > guardian. Mario can shoot fireballs underwater.
-
Doubt it, as big and open as the world looks, its still a limited sandbox, like Borderlands, so the water is one of many natural elements used to contain players (and honestly, I rather have my character drown then awkwardly bumping into a invisible wall)
-
Yeah that would be super realistic to be able to swim in heavy armor. (sarcasm).
-
Hope so, getting fed up with this whole 'super soldier/savior of humanity' type of theme when their one vulnerability is the deep end of the pool.
-
Maybe we get it. Old Chicago seems like a swamp
-
I never understand why people want to swim or go underwater in video games, it's always boring, would be good if we could go underwater on our shrikes though
-
Is there going to be fish AI like COD ghosts? Wow, wouldnt that be great??! Omfg why did they even do that in cod. Its just lame

Edited by Said teh Bear: 6/25/2014 5:54:01 AMAt least some waist high water level would be fun. Im going to get tired of pounding my boots of hard rock and dirt.
-
Mater chief can't swim, niether can a guardian.
-
Water was pretty dang lethal in the Alpha, unfortunately for aquatic enthusists it's a very nice developer tool for organically keeping players within the bounds of the map. Perhaps there will be some areas which will allow better water exploration? We'll see :)
-
In at least in the full game.
-
I'm pretty sure you can't, I drove my sparrow into some water and it killed me, now granted I did this off a cliff, soooooo take that with a grain of salt.
