For me, one of the best parts about waiting for a great title to release is all of the possibilities to theorize about it. Because No Man's Sky is procedurally generated from pebble to planet to solar system, there are plenty of opportunities for absolute craziness.
If you have an idea or theory you've been sitting on, please share it! I've no problem hoppin' on your hype train for this game. I'll start us off with with a few.
Will hazardous environments be in NMS?
Will some environments be so hazardous that they might not be worth the trouble?
Let's have fun with it.

Lol. Get ready for one of the most bug filled, over hyped games since Destiny

What if we do hit the edge of the galaxy? It has to end somewhere, right?

I remember landing on every planet you could explore on Mass Effect. Just running or driving around uncharted landscapes gave me the chills. I wanted more. Thanks for making this topic. Hopefully there will also be ground vehicles, bases to enter (or some reason to stay on planets for a while - fuel a ship or gather intel and resources) and enemy hideouts to sneak around or seize.

Really like the idea of hazardous environments. It isn't exactly "hazardous" per se, but we've seen underwater exploration in trailers. What if players have to upgrade their suits to enter non-oxygenated environments?

there will be a force so great, it will spark ground combat.

Edited by Sarah: 8/6/2014 4:29:36 AMOf course it's a PS4 exclusive. **** OFF! No Destiny, now no procedurally generated space exploration and combat game. How annoying. Space Engine lets me explore a random, infinitely generated universe, but not like NMS.

I was just reading another forum post, and I saw this comment by user Charlemagne, "Definitely so. I was thinking more of the deconstruction than the construction" (in reference to NMS being similar to Minecraft). Upon reading this, a crazy thought popped in my head, 'how far can we go with "that"'? Could a player cut a mountain down into a statue? Could we carve a city into the underground of some planet? If I blasted #YOLO into the earth would other players be able to see it?

They've talked about barren worlds making up most of the planets you'll find. Makes me wonder if there could planets so scarce in resources that players get stranded on them. I don't want it to happen to me, but it'd make an interesting mechanic.

Never heard of NMS. Thanks for the notice.

Oceans might be filled with lava. A planet might have constant hail, yet if you make it past the hail you can mine the precious resources.
