What happened to the characters from ODST? What are the chances of a sequel with them?

As all the others have pointed out, Buck is a SPARTAN-IV now. It is unknown what the status of his squad is.

Nathan Fillion (Buck) was the confirmed voice in the Halo 5: Guardians Beta Trailer. His appearance is very plausible.
