The vast majority almost certainly died when High Charity fell. Considering how much trouble they had with inbreeding even before that, I'd imagine the race is now doomed.

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 6/13/2014 5:56:48 AMWhile inbreeding was certainly an issue with such few numbers, the San 'Shyuum meticulously checked which individuals had good or bad genes. This resulted in a list of individuals who could breed and those who couldn't. While the San 'Shyuum have gone into hiding, they are an enduring race. I doubt we've see the last of them.

I'm sure we'll see them again, but I doubt they could last more than a couple of generations with their current numbers. There should be far too few of them now to sustain a population, even with the meticulous breeding programmes that they use.
