I still don't understand the concept of Neural Physics. Explain.

The Precursors believed that the Mantle was intimately connected with the fabric of the universe - matter, energy and life itself are all connected. The Precursors saw that the entire universe was living, but in a way that only they could comprehend, and the principle of the Mantle was to preserve life in all of its diversity. The Forerunners called this 'Living Time', their own take on the Precursors' philosophy, and it's why the Forerunners ultimately failed to uphold the Mantle when they took it by force, as the upper-echelon of their society was run by a corrupt group of Builders who sought only power and profit.

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 6/12/2014 5:21:28 PMThe concept of Neural Physics is extremely alien, even to the Forerunners. Remember that the Precursors reached the theoretical ceiling for technological advancement. There's no where else for them to go in terms of technology. My interpretation is that the Precursors use Neural Physics thought-stuffs to bind their constructs and architecture together, effectively making them invincible unless a way is found to break the neural bonds.
There's no where else for them to go in terms of technology.
...Technological advancement doesn't even remotely work like that. They must be alien if they've decided they can't get any more advanced and halted any and all projects they were working on.

I don't think you're understanding. The Forerunners did not have the ability to theorize or think of what was beyond what the Precursors had achieved. As a result, they declared that the Precursors had reached a theoretical technological ceiling. Basically, the Precursors knew everything according to Forerunner understanding and foresight.
