Based on what metrics? The number of PS4s sold hasn't even passed 10% of the total number of PS3s sold. I highly doubt that most of those people have never owned a PS3. Early adopters are typically the die hard fans, not casuals.

Every one of my friends who mains a PS4, or is going to main a PS4, never had a PS3.
