So, people are losing their minds over this Master Chief Collection...
Now, sure, it'll be a nice collection, and I might pick it up eventually, but it's still effectively just a bundle of games you have already purchased.
I think people are overreacting a bit.

Yes it is. Best game ever.

I mean given the garbage that the two most recent halo games have been... Having H2 and 3 return to prominence is definitely worth 60 bucks.

You couldn't play ANY HALO GAME ON THE XBOX ONE now you can
-
Exactly everyone is paying for a 60$ GRAPHIC TUNE UP ON AN OLD GAME
-
That is true. People are going insane on buying the console just for that purpose. Which is funny because I stopped playing halo when I got bf4. Even with the issues but that's a different subject. After halo 4 went bad I ain't going to be happy about this. Have they even announced the price for it? I bet it would be around $100

Edited by kgj: 6/12/2014 3:39:15 AMwait so what exactly will the master chief collection do for the xbox live charts? if it's counted as one game i don't see it falling in popularity any time soon. if it's counted as 4 games i'm just imagining the hilarity as there'll probably be 4 different halo titles in the top 20 a lot of the time. and seeing halo fcking ce among them would be one of the most hilariously satisfying things ever.

I think it's quite pathetic that the most exciting game I've seen this year is a remake of a 10 year old game that I already own.
>bundle of games you have already purchased Except it includes Halo 3 matchmaking on dedicated servers (Halo 3 matchmaking is extremely laggy and has been since Reach was released), Halo 2 matchmaking (which has not existed for years), and most importantly, for the first time, Halo CE matchmaking. We aren't excited about it because of the campaign remake, we're excited about it because of the matchmaking.
It really isn't worth it.
-
I am buying it for Halo 2. That is the one game I haven't beaten yet. So I figured that I might is well beat it in 1080p
-
I can see how this is really just a way for Microsoft to sell a ton on Xbox Ones, but I don't care. I'm too excited to play on all the maps on next gen with dedicated servers. It's almost too good to be true for people like myself, who never got to experience the glory days of the older Halos.
-
I will spend my life's savings to play Halo 3 at 1080p 60fps alone.
-
I'd pay $100 just to play Halo 2 multiplayer online again.

Yes the Halo hardcore fans already have these games, but it is all about accessibility. All four Master Chief titles running at 60fps and in 1080p. All the multiplayer maps that were on xbox including DLC over 100 maps. Return of true skill ranking system which most of the fans seem to want. Plus the multiplayer Halo 2 demo looks great. Only bad points are only two player coop campaign online, no system link support and they are not including the Halo 2 missing level. (Missing as Bungie originally admitted they rushed the game and didn't finish it properly and 343i were going to) Nevertheless all this content for £60 on one disc, fecking bargain and will introduce new fans to the wonderful universe which is Halo ;)

Well to make this short and simple.... Most of us are excited

Of course its a great deal. Just think of the content you get for the price of one game. Some people don't have the older systems to play these game in the first place, and half of them you cant play online anymore.
-
My friends and I consistently play through the Halo campaign. We're very excited to play H2 and for all the games to run smoother/look prettier.
-
The point is accessibility, I'm excited for the bundle but I wouldn't say it won them the show, sony just had a lame conference in comparison. Honestly the most annoying people I have found are the people saying it's dumb to buy this bundle because they already bought the games. I guarantee you these same people have at one time, bought the same game they once owned for a different console.

Edited by Jotaro Kujo PhD: 6/10/2014 11:47:48 PMAt the very least, it's quite literally four games for the price of one. Not only is this just a great collection to have, the MCC has all of the games' multiplayer modes included, even though CE never had Live matchmaking. Call me overly optimistic, but there might be a Halo population explosion.

It'll be the most complete Halo experience ever, all for only $60 and on a single disc. It's a dream come true for most Halo fans.
