Many modern class-based shooters start off at launch with a 4 class system, whether it's Battlefield, Borderlands, or Evolve. These classes usually consist of: a Marksman/Gunslinger (Hunter), Heavy/Gunner (Titan), Healer/Wizard (Warlock), and finally the Tactical/Engineer.
However Destiny has no class that fills the tactical class ideology, so I propose that a 4th class could be implemented into the game without causing too much of an overlap between classes.
What do you think a Cool/Balanced 4th class would be? And what role would this class play?
This would obviously not be in Destiny 1, but in the sequels.

I don't think that bungie will add a 4th class in a sequel because the veteran players who want that class will have to make a new guardian
-
I think down the road they will make more.
-
I'm not sure there'd be much of a use for a tactician or engineer class.
-
I hope there will be that 4th one but if not I don't think it'll really change anything
-
All classes aren't locked down to the typical MMO classes
-
So a four man fire team ?
-
I think that all classes in a sense could fulfill the "4th class"
-
I thought the vanguard was a potential 4th class.
-
The whole game is based off three players and I bet Bungie put a lot of work in to decide what size was best. 3 = Fireteam and 6 = Raid.
-
3 and 7 are the divine numbers, I doubt there will be a 4th class just for that reason.
-
neh, it's different with three, and I like that.
-
Let me answer your question with a question. Can someone supply me with a quote from Bungie that says without a doubt that there is ONLY three classes? Not just saying that there are three classes, but saying that they are the only ones. I would look myself, but I am leaving for work.
-
I think setting traps and stuff would be a cool thing for this class.
-
The class you described is what the hunter is suppose to be. The right name for it would be just Engineer or Combat Engineer. Which the abilities would include constructing turrets or something. That would fill the void you are talking about.
-
Nope trios are fine
-
Drugs are bad, mmmk...
-
This idea is bad and you should feel bad.
-
Cloaking is a part of a stealth class!!!!!
-
Ok I was thinking the same thing a while ago, but then I realized that all of the three classes basically have the abilities of an "engineer" class. And all of the abilities basically found in an basic engineer class are found within the guardians "drone" or ghost. You can do a variety of things with it, maybe even customize it's abilities we don't know yet but I don't see a need for an engineer class. Also the name "Phantom" wouldn't apply well to a engineer class, it is made more for the hunter type class, stealth and such.
-
Eh, that Class would seem kinda redundant when you have a Ghost. I think another class would be cool, though.

I would like a engine/summoner type class. Question is can this be implemented without breaking the game mechanics?
