Typically, when it comes to these comparisons, the PC version of a game universally has the upper hand, but according to Morin's tweet, the PC and new-gen versions of Watch Dogs are equals.
It runs the same as next-gen consoles on high setting. But apparently, there is an "Ultra Settings" option, that allows the game to look like that infamous comparison video we've all seen.
Apparently, this was how said video was recorded:
Ultra specs : Intel Core i7-4770K with a GeForce 780. The PC video was recorded on an Intel Core i7-3930K with a GeForce Titan IIRC.
In other news, I hope my PC can run the Ultra specs.
Thoughts?

You can play it on ultra with a GTX 670.

Edited by Progo: 5/26/2014 2:07:12 PMno no no no NO This means they capped the game for PC gamers... Why the flipping -blam!- would they do that?! EDIT: Alright, if it can be played in 4K, with matching textures, I'm fine with it

I have an i7 4770K wih a geforce 780. Still getting it on xbox one.

Lol watchdogs

Here we go The same people in this thread rant on about graphics and in other threads they rant on about how graphics don't matter. Just amazing.
-
i5 and 780? GPU aside, (which is probably decent enough) I think you'll find that your CPU will be a bottleneck with some of the more demanding next-gen games (especially if it's a mid-low range i5).

Edited by BritLemon: 5/22/2014 4:42:33 PMYet the PC version will still look better regardless. And yes, your 780 will run it at ultra. Although Ubi games aren't the greatest when it comes to how well optimised they are on PC *looks at assassins creed*

As long as it doesn't look like utter shit, I don't mind too much about the graphics. I'm more concerned about if it will be fun to play or not <.<
-
Hopefully it'll support SLI off the bat, I've had issues with Battlefield 4 and a few other titles with dual 780s before, I hope Watch Dogs is prepped for it. 1440p ultra settings, come at me you glorious bastard. Getting it on Xbox One too, because I'm still a sucker for consoles.
-
Isn't that how all new gen games are? The Xbone/PS4 are pretty much at the high tier of PC, albeit a little lower.
-
I'm hoping I can get the setting pretty high with my i5 and 7870
-
This game overall looks disappointing.

Edited by Logfish111: 5/22/2014 9:39:11 PMWhy do you care about watch dogs so much? It's just a poor man's GTA where you press X to 'hack' stuff.

I take this with a grain of salt. I remember reading about how DICE said Battlefield 3 would be this fantastic experience on PC on the highest settings, and the lowest settings would be "console quality" like it was some insult or something. Then the game came out, and it looked the same across all platforms. Crysis 2 was kind of the same way except without the boasting in the lead up to release (at least as far as I'm aware). The game looked the same across all platforms, and like Battlefield 3, one was hard-pressed to find the difference between the game playing on the highest or lowest setting. Maybe 2011 was just an odd year? I know that wasn't the case with the first Crysis: pretty big difference there between highest and lowest graphics settings, and the same with StarCraft 2. So, I'm going to remain skeptical about news like this.

High settings don't matter tho, Ultra is obviously way better I don't know why they would even say this.
-
My 760 should be able to run it on Ultra if I just use FXAA.
-
But Ultra is where it's at!
