Ok, when this game was first shown off, it was nowhere near my radar. It looked like another mindless shooter that tried too hard to emulate the 90s... Then as time flew by and more and more stuff was shown, it grabbed my attention. And not after playing, I can honestly say that this Wolfenstein is fantastic!
I dont know how they managed to do it, but they did. They somehow managed to take a game that was all about mindless slaughter, and give it heart! That blows me freaking mind while I blow -godwinslaw!- scum to pieces with my duel wielding shotguns. While I do that, BJ has some surprisingly touching, and poetic things to say about what has happened. It completely changes my perspective of him from the grandfather of The Duke, to a poetic warrior that can kick some ass!
The environments of the game are a bit linear, however, they do allow for multiple paths of egress either that be an assault, or use of the surprisingly good stealth mechanics. Exploring the environment leads to many secrets and Easter eggs.
I have not seen a lot of the story right now, but I can tell you that it is very well written! Which comes as a sorta no-surprise since the developers are pretty much ex members of Starbreeze (The Darkness, Chronicles of Riddik), and they are very well known for awesome shooters with great stories.
The only problems that I have with the game, is its finicky use of duel wielding everything, and having some FPS shudders in more demanding environments. While the game certainly looks good on my PS4, ID Tech 5 is going to need some hefty upgrades if it wants to compete with engines like Snow Drop, and CryEngine 3.
I am only a couple of hours in, and I am having a blast with it. I sure hope it stays this way till the end.
Review coming soon!

I keep on hearing about "simple" stealth scenes and it turns me off the whole game.
