Some of you may know that I got a 3 month old kitten and I named him Mordred about a month ago. Everything is going well except one thing: He needs my constant undivided attention. From the moment I wake up and walk out of my room he runs straight to me and starts meowing like crazy jumping on my leg. He keeps this up until I pick him up and hold him, if I put him down at all he starts meowing again and will follow to the ends of the Earth.
I have no qualms with caring for him, otherwise I would have never gotten him, but he shows no sense of independence other than taking a piss wherever he pleases. If I'm by myself in my room he meows outside the door and scratches at it until I open it up and let him in (and then let him on me). This is a daily occurrence, I wouldn't be surprised if he does this when I'm gone such as when I go to class or work.
Will he grow out of this? We have another cat named Josephine who's about 12 years old and all she does is sit around the house and stare out windows. The only thing she wants out of me is the occasional face rub and to let her stare outside my window, but Mordred expects everything out of me.
So will he eventually give me space outside of sleep and work?

He'll grow out of it. I've a 9 month old puppy that follows me everywhere and gets really nervous when left by herself.
