Is it faith? Is it the belief in God(s)? Is it a belief and ideology set by a person, that is believed by a few? What in your eyes, makes a religion? No definition pasters please, but if you do...I will most likely whine like a bitch and threaten to mute! Ill do it!
yea...I won't do it ;)
So believing in a single god likely means a person is either Jewish, Muslim, or Christian. If this person then believes in the story of Jesus then that person is nearly guaranteed to be Christian. So for me, religion is a gathering of similar beliefs, and in this example of course it's a major shared belief, but it could be a small group to. Incidentally believing there might be a spiritual connection to life, but no concrete beliefs makes a person agnostic. A lack of any spiritual makes a person Atheist (as shown by the word itself A-without and theist- theism - spirituality). So that means an Atheist can still believe ideology, have faith in people, etc. he or she just don't believe in a supernatural power or spiritual connection. By contrast an agnostic believes there to be something supernatural to life, but hasn't found a definition that suits him or her. Things get more interesting for me when asking what the difference is between a religious belief (group of people believing the same core ideas) and a cult? Perhaps extreme beliefs, but then what about organizations like Westboro Baptist Church? This church is technically Christian-Baptist but even other Baptists say they are to extreme and don't support their actions. So it this a religious belief or just a cult based on a religion? Edit: Sorry bored at work lol
