From what we have seen so far, killed enemies will disintegrate without any blood effects. This really bothers because it looks so unreal and stupid. I don't want the game anywhere near as gory as Gears of War, but I want some realistic blood effects and ragdoll to balance out all the space magic.
-
If you get disintegrated there would be nothing but energy left considering how much energy it would take your blood would boil very quick.
-
There would most likely be some type of gore depending on how an enemy is killed and what is used to kill it. But it all ties down to the composition of the enemy, for instance, the Cabal bleed/leak oil instead of blood from what we've I've seen.

Edited by H0RSE: 5/19/2014 1:13:24 AMI miss the "golden years" of gaming, where gibs were commonplace. Growing up playing games like DOOM and Duke Nukem, and later Quake and UT, I grew accustomed to the extra "flavor" this brought to games. recently however, it seems blood and gore are intentionally left out of games. Even wth M rated games, it seems that they receive that rating more for things like language or "adult themes," rather than wanton violence. Yes, there are still gory games, like God or War, Gears of War, and Borderlands, but it seems games like this tend to be the exception, whereas in the past, they were closer to the rule. I would love it if Destiny was a gory game, but it wouldn't need to be overkill. I think too much could take away from the atmosphere or "feel" the game is trying to project, but like a headshot that explodes heads, or a rocket blast resulting in gibs, I don't see taking anything away from the game. Would really like to see some visceral damage from shotguns as well.

Watch the strike gameplay again closely. You'll notice that one of the Fallen are shot and blow up rather gorily.
-
I loved Gears of War, the gore could be considered over the top but I enjoyed it very much seeing my enemy explode to bits from my shotgun shot! 1,2, and 3 are great, and Judgement sucks... I enjoyed the story, but the gameplay is not as fun as it used to be... In my opinion though, Destiny does not need any of that because it is a mythic sci-fi. With that classification you pretty much throw out any realism, in game mechanically or even visually there is no real need for any blood shed. Now cursing on the other hand yes, I think will make an appearance. I can see your guardian spitting out a couple "shit","oh -blam!-", and "god damn" in a combat situation...
-
The but hurt is strong in this one
-
First, its a space game, so it should be unrealistic. Second, some companies have to limit gore for trailers, so I'm not sure if that is the case.
-
It isn't supposed to be realistic.
-
The fallen don't disintegrate. I'm pretty sure it's only when you use elemental weapons or focus abilities that enemies do. I agree with you about the lack of blood spatter though. It just feels like you're using an air rifle or something with out it.
-
I'm of the opinion that there is a fine line with gore.... If I haven't already said this, the more gore a game has usually influences how I like it . Ie too much gore and I'll not play for long. I think this May be just right. In any case it's a futuristic game... You wouldn't see Kirk taking on Khaan with a shotty now would you... We'll actually you might but, but Sisko? -- no way
-
Than you have a problem with life!!!!
-
too bad. it's already been decided that the game will be T for teen.
-
While I could go either way I wouldn't mind a halo style blood splatter or some played out gore scenery like in mass effect
-
I don't think the game needs gore, or to be realistic. Also the enemies only disintegrate when you kill them with magic.
-
Personally I welcome it. I can finally play a shooter without blood, so the little eyes in the house I can play in front of. Cod, battlefield and games like that I always have to wait for the young ones to go to bed before playing. I hope this one I can just load it up and play. Would be a nice change.

It's a sci-fi game and you want realism? K.
-
I'm sure it will be fairly realistic once it has come out

Edited by Oddball: 5/17/2014 2:57:24 PMSure... If you want a severe frame rate drop. Do some research before posting because you sound -blam!-ing retarded.
-
At most, we'll get a splatter effect, and that's an unlikely outcome as it is.
-
you need to type in this code on the title screen to get the blood code: ABACABB
-
They aim for this to be a Teen game
-
#youareoverthinkingit 15mins into the game you won't even care anymore and will have forgotten it was even a concern in the first place.
-
For a second there I thought that said ogre, because if you talk bad about shrek it would have been all ogre for you.
-
I don't mind as long as no one gets their head or limbs cut off off with a chainsaw and blood everywhere!!! Those gory games make me sick to my stomach!:/
-
I doubt you'll even notice it after a while.
