So I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with eve online but a work friend just showed me a really cool feature they have.
Eve has a really high powered character creation and viewing tool that renders their character really highly detailed and applies real physics to their hair and clothing. It's really there just to walk around in and see how cool your character looks.
The coolest part of it though is that you can pose your character and then take pictures of them. These pictures can then be used as your forum avatars. This is awesome because even when eve payers are not their characters in game they can still show off and see everyone else's characters in the forums!
I really don't think there is anything like this I destiny but I was just thinking how cool it would be if we could take in game screenshots and set it as our forum avatars!
( if you have a next Gen console I guess this could be accomplished in a round about way by pulling a screen grab of your character uploading it and then pulling it into your computer and adding it. But eves was really slick streamlined procedure$

Well, right now, I could change my avatar picture to my Spartan from Halo 3, ODST, or Reach. The spartan is just standing there, and now that they don't support anything Halo anymore I dont think it would change the armor if I changed it in game. But that does not seem impossible for Bungie to do for Destiny.

Edited by Saphyr: 5/18/2014 12:28:00 AMI'd have to squint to see most of the detail if we desire to show more than just a helmet and the top of your chest gear. Besides, I'm a fan of symbols and such rather than people as avatars most of the time... as you can see. I would want to also be able to do something like hand craft a symbol/coat of arms for myself and set that as an avatar. Then again, there is a chance that Bungie.net is getting some sort of massive overhaul in the coming months. A recent video (linked) showing some of what Bungie was doing during the journalist visit briefly shows (@ 1:40) a screen with a version of Bungie.net that looks quite different from what it is right now, but it also features Guardian information and a visual cutout of the Guardian with gear on.
