Only disintegrations?
So I've just now watched the Devil's lair video for the first time, and it looks like Bungie is taking a weird turn. During the course of the video I didn't really see any blood or gore which concerns me. It feels like this game is going to be too cartoony with all the powerups and magic disintegrations everywhere, I mean what happened to shooting people and having blood squirt out of them? Don't get me wrong, the game still looks great, but i'm a blood and gore kind of gamer, and that's what bungie has done for a long time, and I'm used to that.
I don't know. What do you think about this community, will it make gameplay dull? Or will it be something that makes the game great?
Thoughts?
Edit: Tru7h. Carnage? Bungie.

Vex explode in gross stuff
good nuff
Plot twist: Destiny is a simulation and everything is perfectly normal in the real world.
-
Don't worry. The cabal can bleed if I remember correctly.
-
This is how psychopaths are born
-
Halo CE... Beat the elites down and keep beating them until game lags then stop, back up, and look at the view. Then move on to the next.
-
Cabal will bleed oil when you shoot them.
-
Maybe I'm just a little mental, but if I'm blowing something up I want it to throw chunks unreal style. But at the same time, if it's polished enough it could disintegrate into floating dongs and I would still enjoy the game.

Yeah theres something to that. I doubt it will ruin anything but it is a shooter staple. You feel more accomplished when theres bodies everywhere, morbid sure, but very human. Ive thought for a while that it looks like it will be rated T. Which is cool with me when everything else is so above and beyond. Spore was silly and cartoony but managed to have tons of great gameplay and crazy customization. I think the nonlinear sandbox play is going to outweigh the need for visceral gore. This universe seems to be nestled somewhere in between Star Trek and Alien on the sci-fi gore meter. Maybe some races dying animations are bloodier weve only seen two right? Vex and Fallen?

What would blood add to the game?
-
Dude, who doesn't like disintegration's?
-
I was concerned about this months ago. One of the best parts about Hunters in the Halo games is how they bled gold blood when you hit them in the weak spot. It doesn't matter how much damage you were doing, the visual feedback made you feel powerful. But along with the $500 million seems to have come the desire for a teen-friendly game. Just another way AAA games are becoming just like movies.

Heh.... Meh..... It's an artistic design decision. One I don't have a strong opinion on. The game looks enjoyable as is. Blood or no blood.
-
Sorry Dexter, no blood.
-
If there's no blood after putting a bullet into somebody's brain, that's just stupid. Sorry.
-
The blood/gore of the Halo games deffinatley had a certain immersive appeal. I noticed the same thing watching various Destiny stuff, where enemies just desintegrate. While the lack wouldnt ruin it, seeing blood splatter on the wall behind the guy I just shot is pretty cool.
That sounds a lot darker than intended.
Blood does let the player know he's done damage after shields are gone in Halo. Then again it there's a health bar now. That feels weird to me.
-
It's a little creepy how much people want blood in this game.
-
Well I'm sure the Cabal will bleed, the Fallen, Vex, look mechanical. Hive... I don't know but the game looks amazing without the blood and gore. The only thing I think blood adds is confirmation of solid hits on the target.
-
I don't need blood to enjoy a video game.

Edited by Razoron333: 5/11/2014 8:58:29 PMI mean if they gave you the option it would be cool.
-
Aliens already fall into chunks, blood would make it a horror game http://sd.keepcalm-o-matic.co.uk/i/keep-calm-just-kidding--29.png

Blood doesn't matter to me, there's enough in the real world. And excessive gore is often used to make up for a lack of interesting gameplay, just like over-sexualization.

-
I would like this world to be more real, yes to add blood.
-
I say it doesn't matter, in my opinion. As long is the game is enjoyable then I'm fine with it.

If you have a weapon with so much power that it has the ability to disintegrate your foes, I think you are doing pretty well. I'm all for disintegration!
