Today, I'll be reviewing my first map in about... six months, so, lets get into it. This map caught my eyes, for the obvious reason that it was a Minecraft remake in Halo Custom Edition. For starters, there really isn't much to this map. Yeah, the aesthetics are nice, but it's so small that there really isn't any challenge to finding people. The other problem with this map is it seems really difficult to host a game on it. I lost my connection, despite being the host, close to four times. The blocks look like they've been ripped straight from Minecraft, with the only exception being the HUD, which looks a little underdone. The stars in the sky look a little out of place, but this map benefits from being set at night.
As far as weapons go, I couldn't for the life of me figure out to use the sword, there was no swinging animation and when I 'hit' other players, I couldn't tell if it was doing damage or not. The bow on the other hand works fine, although it to lacks a firing animation. The arrows don't have any physics, which could have been done as they do exist in the game (Fuel rod cannon projectiles), but that's not a big problem.
Overall, despite this maps flaws its getting a solid 6/10, for the nice graphics and because it's the best map of this type I have played yet.
If you feel like checking it out for yourself you can get it from halo maps here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=6777
