When do you think 4K TVs will become the norm? Or even mildly affordable? Most are still to expensive.
When will TV channels start broadcasting in 4K?

After they start broadcasting in 1080p.

Edited by MajorCrabs: 5/10/2014 3:10:19 AMI dont think anytime soon. We still dont stream true HD from the net and basic cable still isnt HD. Thats not to say some company decides to start filming and releasing content in 4k. I just don't think a variety of programming will be available until 10 years from now.

Edited by Greene: 5/9/2014 10:56:04 PMAsus is selling $800 4K monitors which i think is reasonably priced. I don't have an XBone but I understand you can watch TV with them now? Anyway if they update the next console versions (i doubt they could lol) to make it capable of playing that definition then I suppose you technically could.

10-15 years before it's widely adopted. People still use cathode ray televisions, so don't expect any speedy progression.

2015-2016

4 years

Probably 5-7 years

I'd give it 5 years before it's widely adopted.

Affordable? About 4 years. Become the norm? About 10.
When do you think 4K TVs will become the norm? Or even mildly affordable? Most are still to expensive.
About 3 years.
When will TV channels start broadcasting in 4K?
TV still doesn't really broadcast in 1080p HD. Probably a while from now.

I'd guess they'll be relatively affordable in 5 years or so, but I doubt we'll see many 4k channels for quite some time, at least in the US. We have a terrible ISP infrastructure.

I say another 5-6 years
