Jesus is probably above trivial manmade political infustructures, just saying.
-
Jesus believed in free market capitalism. Jesus voted for Ronald Reagan. You -godwinslaw!--commie satan worshippers will never steer me away from the true path that I learned from Mitt Romney and Rush Limbaugh.

Jesus would mute you

Edited by Al Gore: 5/7/2014 8:55:25 PMNot socialism. Love.

No, he just wanted everyone to be nice to each other out of the goodness of their own hearts. I don't remember ever seeing the words "means of production" in the Gospels. Trying to force his teachings into a modern political or economic mold is just distortive.

Edited by Legend To None: 5/7/2014 6:13:28 PMJesus, wouldn't be because being Lazy is a sin. Okay it's not really but Jesus didn't think to kindly of laziness. Even Jesus values hard work...

Would be more like he was !

Explain how the founder of the Catholic Church would approve of a society of elitists redistributing wealth, please?
-
Just saying.
Jesus wouldn't be a socialist. He didn't force people to share. Socialism is stupid and Jesus would know that it is impractical.
-
He actually would be, you're right.
-
Jesus wouldn't make a thread about it.
-
Jesus was an uneducated peasant. His opinion is overrated.
-
If Jesus had a gun he'd be alive today.

I don't know how Jesus would want to organize an economy, but he for sure would be a cynic. Given his rhetoric regarding rich people and voluntary redistribution it's possible he would favor something like socialism. I sincerely doubt he would be up on a society itself owning the means of production, since he espoused cynical tendencies and frequently talked about the "evils of the world of men". He would probably be something like an anarchic-socialist, similar to Chomsky and his supporters.

Edited by cxkxr: 5/7/2014 4:21:03 PMHe's actually more of a voluntarist. Charity, compassion, etc. All rather libertarian.
-
Jesus, the man that condemned tax collection? LolOk.
-
Jezus was a real Murican hero!

He cared about the poor, but that doesn't necessarily make him a socialist. Honestly, I don't think he would even understand the concept of the socialization of the means of production and class elimination.
