I completely understand a private institution banning someone, but what's with the giant $2.5 million fine?
All he did was be racist. That shit will ban you from anywhere, including Bungie.net, but would Bungie.net fine me $2.5 million?
I just don't understand how someone could be sued for social justice's sake. What "damages" did he cause with racism? Last I checked, there are no physical damages for hurt feelings.
I swear, I didn't have any interest in this until I hovered over a video on YouTube's front page and noticed a $2.5 million fine. Makes no sense to me whatsoever.
It's only a matter of time until the US ends up like Sweden and completely prohibits criticism of immigration policies.

Because his comments have negatively affected the leagues image. That's why. But it won't really matter, the dude is a billionaire. That's pocket change

Dear nazi mods: you may have permabanned my other account, but shitposting will always find a way. I will lie about how to make faces. I will accuse teams of 322. I will raise my dongers. So don't even waste your time banning me, because I am like a boomerang. I will always return. Pls no copy pasterino dongerino cappucino.

Fatmarshall, you owe me $2.5MM.

Because it's cool to be flagrantly homophobic but racism in private, leaked illegally, is a no-no.
-
I imagine it has to do with costs that we (the general public) don't see.

Edited by Reclamity: 4/30/2014 10:19:37 PMThe guy's a billionaire, a few million is by no means a huge fine for him.
-
I'm pretty sure he can spare 2.5 million for his own stupidity.

he wasn't sued. he was fined by the nba.
