Doesn't that mean that they should be able to get hit like a man?
If you wanna get treated like a man, you can get your ass beat like a man.
PS. Not saying hitting is the answer at all.

They should pay Child Support and Men should take half of their things in a divorce

Wise man once said " speak softly and carry a big f$cking stick" .

There are a lot of things woman have to do before they are ever truly "equal".

I thought men who hit other men a lot were labeled as "thugs" and sent to prison.

Or you could, you know, treat people as individual people. Instead of separate genders.

If they truly want equality they'd lobby for having the same physical requirements for the military, firefighting etc., they'd fight to be included in the Selective Service, and for child custody battles be fairer to men, but they don't. Feminists are content being treated differently as long as they benefit from it. Feminists also fight for non-issues like the right to wear revealing clothes while not being ogled. The only reason anyone would wear that clothing in the first place is because they want to be noticed and look sexy. It's not like heels and tubetops are exactly comfortable.

You shouldn't hit a man either. No matter what gender you hit you will probably end up in jail because it has no place in a civilized society. Use your words...

I don't believe the two sexes are equal. They should both be respected equally but anatomy wise, most males are more dominant than most females. That's why I have the old school view of men as the protector of women. I've been tempted to hit women and almost have but it'll go against my beliefs. A man can overpower his woman and scold her in other ways than straight up hitting; and the woman can hit him to set him straight, because she can't overpower him any other way. This is for very specific, intense situations obviously but it's in order to explain my point. There are rare cases because of genetics and what not, as always, hence the 'most.'

If men are so strong, how come they can't get the blanket back from the girl while they're in bed? Checkmate.
-
Women don't want to be treated like men. They want to be treated better, and they want to make more money, and have more political influence than men. Feminism is a problem and I'm the solution.
-
Who says we want to be treated like men? We just want some goddamn respect.
-
Fight Gina Carano if you think they are the weaker sex.
-
Women should be drafted if they truly want to be equal.
-
I get your argument, but I wouldn't hit a guy that was built like a typical woman either. If there's a clear disadvantage, a real man walks away.

Equality is a word that seems to play a significant part in human culture, often used but rarely understood by its users.

Edited by Sandtrap: 4/25/2014 3:18:19 PMWell, see, they aren't equal. In fact nobody alive is truly "equal." On a barebones gender level, yes, there is a basic form of "We're the same." But after that, there is no equality. However, it should be in everybody's best interest to treat each other with the same respect that they themselves would expect. I'll give you an example. I'm a big guy, and a year or so back, I worked at a construction job. I'm a big guy, but for my age, compared to the "norm" around here, I'm not quite as strong as I could be. And I got shit for it. Now, about 3 months into my job, we got some new folks working on the job. And there was this really skinny fellow. About as tall as me, a pretty big guy in his own right, but a very small frame, and the two of us were tasked with moving some iron beams around. He couldn't lift them. I didn't say a word. Not so much as a peep, not a smile or a smirk, and no jokes behind his back, because I understood that people all have different "settings." Why would I give him shit for something that's part of his own genetics or for all I know could be some degenerative disease? Why should I receive shit because of my size and apparent lesser strength to match? Truth is, I work in an environment where I don't get to move around and lift as much as other people do, and over the course of 7-8 months, any muscle mass gained is lost during the winter because you can't work outside. But I work twice as hard as they do to compensate for it. Basically, people will always be different, no matter the gender. But what isn't different, and what shouldn't be, is the level of respect and civility shared between people.

Edited by Based Gatsby: 4/25/2014 3:06:52 PMTreated equally in areas where sex doesn't matter for example an office job. Both sexes in that situation should be treated equally as sex doesn't depend on how well you can carry out your work. However in other areas such as sports obviously no because males are physically stronger.

I wonder what jaythenerdkid would say if she were here.

I don't think women want to be treated like men, they want to be treated with respect.

>Implying assault is lawful regardless of which gender is on the receiving end of it.

Don't be silly, people don't want the negatives of equality, they just want the perks. Honestly people picking and choosing what they want out of it is part of the reason equality is harder to achieve, because of all those people who don't want to take the full package or want more special privileges than the people they're trying to be equal with.
-
I agree with the logic.
