My computer was plugged in, all switches were turned on (PSU switch, wall plug socket), and I got a tingly shock feeling from my PC case when I touched it(moved my finger across it) whilst I was holding the end of my HDMI cable (I was touching the contacts).
This also happens when i touch my case when my iPod charger is plugged into my 360 or TV (360 or TV was turned on).
What the hell is this?
I really hope it's not a fault in the house wiring.
I'm actually being serious for once.
And no, I didn't sell it. Check the tags of that other thread for your answer.
EDIT: Yes, I've asked Tom's Hardware. They were no help at all.
EDIT: Been speaking with Crantius Colton. He said he's almost certain it's my PSU.
Going to get my uncle to bring his computer down to see if his does the same.

It's me trying to kill you

I've had an Xbox since I was 2 years old, I've never got a shock. Just another reason to join the console master race.

Edited by Hunter: 4/25/2014 1:01:51 AMI found this on Yahoo answers:
There are two types of electric shocks possible on a computer. The most common is static electricity. Common in the winter months when indoor humidity is low due to heating, this is the same momentary spark you might get while touching a metal door knob. If you immediately touch the metal again, there will be no additional shocks. This is annoying and can cause a sudden computer shutdown, but isn't medically dangerous. The other type of shock possibility is far more dangerous. If some idiot miswired your wall outlet and put the power wire on the ground connector, you'll get zapped with 120/240V AC every time you touch the metal case. Instead of your computer being properly grounded, touching it is like sticking your finger into the wall outlet - with possible fatal consequences. This does need to be fixed.
It's probably the second one... You'd have to answer this. Hope this helps. You should probably call an electrician.

IT'S AC3 TELLING YOU THAT ITS BETTER THAN YOU.

Your PC is hungry for more ram

Grounding problem... Be careful young un, one false move and your PC will be fried like your chips.

That's what you get for using a Raidmax PSU

If it does that for all of the electronics in your house then there's only one possibility:
You have super powers! Now, whether you choose to be good or evil is up to you, but as far as the whole "electric villain thing" there's already Electro, so that bit is taken.

Although now that I think about it, there's also Static from DC, so I guess it's totally up to you.
Its Marty's soul He wants you to stop impersonating him

I would consult an electrician, I don't know too much about electricity. I know basic circuits and stuff but this seems like a problem you shouldn't ask people on bungie about. It might be a problem with grounding.

Its coming alive bruh!

It's trying to mate with you. Assume the position.

Do you know how to build a pc? if not, its easy to learn. you should dissasemble the whole pc and look for any defects on every single device (if your toms hardware didnt already do). I would say its a cable, that is damaged and touches the computer case or somerhing like this.

Edited by Sylveon, God of Moonblast: 4/25/2014 5:15:16 AMIs there anywhere else we can do this? I host a mumble server, and have a steam account. It'll be easier doing it with voice or IM than on a forum.

European outlets are weird, but do you know where the ground port is? Get a light copper wire and attach it to the ground, and also attach it to the metal case of your PC. This should obliterate any static.

Edited by Sylveon, God of Moonblast: 4/25/2014 3:26:53 PMI see your thread on Tom'shardware. And this is a common occurrence with faulty PSUs/wiring. I would try a different PSU in your PC if it's possible to get your hands on one to see if it's that. If not, you'll have to do some diagnosis, or get an electrician to diagnose it. Definitely earth leakage.

Trade it in for a gameboy

Your PC has become so powerful it has developed into a new life form- an Electric/Steel pokemon.
