I Have a Few Problems With Destiny
Yup, I have a few problems with Destiny. Despite its massive claims of originality, Destiny isn't doing much that hasn't been done before. The only real difference is that some of these qualities are relatively new to mainstream shooters. Furthermore I've seen very little besides aesthetics that differentiates the three classes. each one has a couple special moves, but they all seem to play about the same. I also don't like that there will be a beta. I prefer to enjoy my games fresh with other people. I don't like the idea that many people will already have a fair amount of experience with the game on launch day. Surely any balancing issues can be taken care of in the studio? The beta seems like both cheap publicity and a cop-out.
What about Destiny is bothering you? I'm curious to hear if anyone else has a bad feeling about this game.

Stop being a brat, and only limited things are accessible to the beta player when they play. The only thing between u and the beta tester is that they will probably get an in-game reward for getting the beta! If not having experience is such a problem then watch the beta testers play. I mean this game is introducing practically a new genre for the gaming world and setting the bar for other shooting games! Bungie's been very careful to show us what we want to see, while at the same time showing us very little. All that being said, there are a few things that have me worried about Destiny. The main one being how will PvP be balanced in such a item-centric game.

I'm sure that for one the beta isnt the final version, and anything in the beta or that is given to us is Unconfirmed and subject to change, Also if u have such a problem with the beta testers, get the beta urself and stop complaining

Also all I'm hearing is that you don't understand how a game is made, 9/10 look forward to a Beta and it offers huge ironing out and faster progress in game development. Also you have no experience in the game and can not decide whether or not the classes are balanced, AND name one game that has the same genre as Destiny's. Also please, if you're going to call yourself a rat, please use a capital letter like they told you to in preschool.

My complaint would be that there are only three classes. Even with gun trees and talent trees... that's not a ton of variety.

No manual Space Flight. Pretty terrible waste of the ship designs. Why even bother making them look awesome when all they serve as are Pelicans and a cut scene? Just another time sink.

The only thing about Destiny that really rubs me raw is that it (or it's beta) isn't out yet for me to make an educated decision about it. I don't wait well. I'm curious to see a how much time this game will "require" to make significant headway. If people can't devote 12 hours a day to playing will they just be small fish in a big pond? That's my burning question.

From the story itself (so, we're all guardians of earth, but then we're fighting each other??), to the fact that there's a chance loot differences my cause unbalance in competitive, to the fact that Bungie has been very tight lipped about it for a long time and still are. Other than that, the game feels awesome to me, nothing but good vibes.

Well, the Beta for us is more of a stress test on their servers. Lord knows how many games I've played at launched (that required internet access) have always crashed because the server load/structure was not efficient enough.

1 ReplyDestiny was incredibly cutting edge when it was conceptualised in 2007. Unfortunately, many games have started cropping up with similar mechanics. If Micro$oft had let Bungie go instead of demanding three additional Halo games, Destiny would not only have been the first to incorporate these mechanics, it would (as it still is) be the first to incorporate them all together. However, Borderlands beat us to the punch on this, Titanfall got that, and other games got the edge on some mechanics because it just took so long. On note of the beta, Bungie has always released a beta since it first became easily available, and it really does help with the dev process, as it is a free source of playtesting. Don't worry though, it is unlikely that any characters will be carried over from the beta to the game. Everyone will be the same on launch day, and from a shooter perspective, many people will have a fair amount of skill whether they play the beta or not.
