I want to know the interwebs answer.

Edited by Shad0wTitan51: 6/2/2014 11:42:32 PMMost of the answers stated here are reasonable, but in my opinion, Bungie shouldn't of gave 343 Industries Halo. My point is that I would rather have the original creators than a new one. Halo 4 is a good game in all, but is has its flaws. Well, anyways, Bungie considering you have passed the torch you could of helped out even if you didn't need it anymore. I still don't want Halo to die. It's the first game I ever played as a gamer and I am an extreme Halo fan.

"I can haz Recon" should not be an answer. That question is irrelevant now that 343 unlocked recon for EVERYBODY. Tis a shame for those who earned it.
-
They had no voice 343 owned like 51% of it.
-
I don't mind really who controls the game; in all sense I think Bungie is tired of it so that decided it would be best to give it to another company with some innovation, and also Bungie is in development of Destiny I don't see a point of bringing halo to Bungie again
I think it was a good and bad idea
-
The scenario for Bungie was a whole lot different in the early 2000s than it is now. It's easy to judge retrospectively.
-
I still have faith in 343, and I get destiny as well. so I think it was great
-
It's Microsoft's property, it's not like they chose to throw Halo to the next guy in line
-
I don't think your poll is looking at the whole situation. It's like asking if giving Wal-Mart 20 dollars is a good idea. What are you giving them money for? Just because, or did you buy something? In Bungie's case, Halo was the price of their independence. Technically, its a bit more complex than that, but that's what it boils down to, and you should be asking whether the whole trade was a wise decision, not just selling Halo.
-
Halo is dead to me after playing Halo 4. Just let the franchise die for Christ's sake. Kinda like Call of Duty, eventually everyone will begin to treat Halo like the Anti-Christ of gaming.
-
Yes. Obviously Bungie got tired of making the same game for ten years. Although it was enjoyable, they wanted to try something new. So Destiny is what they came up with.
-
I just want halo to evolve, and having new creative minds can do just that. Bungie is moving on, halo is moving on; it's time to innovate.
-
No it was a horrible idea cause Bungie was handling it perfect.

Edited by Machinimagames: 5/31/2014 1:07:53 AMI actually love Halo 4 and what 343 has done with it. I'm glad they gave it up because the latest Halo Bungie made, which was reach was not good. The last great Halo game made was Halo 3.
-
i guess for the sake of moving on yes. I shouldn't really care considering I don't have an xbone.
-
Yes in a way, because Bungie had to sell Halo to Microsoft in order to be their own company again like they used to be.
-
Edited by Staluti: 5/2/2014 12:29:16 AMI really wished that Microsoft would have the decency to just let Halo die. "you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
-
Why oh why are 343 so bad ;_;
-
Edited by Soto_Image: 5/25/2014 12:20:44 PMI think it was a good choice because they can focus on a new project "Destiny" and in my opinion it can be good as or even better than Halo. Destiny is offering so much from customizing your guardian (detail by detail) to free roam the world. 343 is adding so much to Halo that it's ruining the game. Next thing you know Halo is going to have kill streaks like COD.
-
The choice was simple; either keep developing Halo indefinitely (and be owned by Microsoft) or give up on Halo and become independent a la Bungie style.
-
343 has many Bungie employees that still wanted to work on Halo. Plus Bungie wanted to make Destiny, so everything works out. And Halo 4 was rushed because of the Xbox One release. Microsoft wanted a Halo game on Xbox One and if they waited with Halo 4 it wouldn't be until at least 2016 that Halo 5 would come to Xbox One. Tl;dr Halo 5 will be the biggest and best Halo game yet. (Besides CE of course!)
-
Was it a good idea to give it to 343? Probably not. I think that someone else should have done it but I think Bungie was done with halo. Halo 4 is a good example. If Bungie kept with halo it would eventually turn into that. I don't hate halo 4 as much most people do but compared top other halo games it falls short.
-
Edited by Cal-16: 5/26/2014 12:20:58 AMI really liked halo 4 actually
-
I still don't have my recon, no matter how many times I ask!
-
After the abominations that were Halo Reach and Halo ODST, it was best that Bungie pass the torch.
-
Yes it was! Bungie gave it to 343 because they wanted to focus on Destiny which I believe is going to be amazing! Halo 5 is going to be good as well considering 343 were given everything that Bungie used to make the halo games. There is no reason then why Halo 5 is going to be crap which it won't
-
Go be honest I am glad bungee for so that franchise is practically older than me...and before needed to set its highs on a different game
