Is there ever any IP banning around here anymore? By all means, it seems more and more necessary.

There should be IP muting. That would work better.

Pretty sure that was done away with after some guy got his whole college IP banned.

You would need to ban unique numbers that can't be changed. IP addresses aren't that. You can very easily request a new IP from your ISP.

IPs can be changed, ban his subnet.

IP bans are innefective. We need to employ mac address bans.

Achronos refuses to do it because he doesn't want to risk accidentally banning an entire university/small town/country in which all users share the same IP. Plus they're really easy to get around.

It doesn't work, I can change my IP in 15 seconds with some awesome Japanese software called SoftEther (legal as well).
