I am not sure how many others feel this way, but I really did love it. Whereas the other two films bombed the entire thing, this one got many things right. Sure it still had its bad direction and hammy dialogue. But seeing the downfall of Anakin and the rise of Darth Vader was astounding!
What did you think of this particular film?

The last lightsaber duel was nasty
-
It's the best of the worst. The many references to the OT felt hamfisted (Chewie was second in command of KashyyyK?), and the rapid turn to the dark side was extremely unbelievable, but the action was awesome and Obi Wan tore shit up.
-
Edited by Madman Mordo: 4/17/2014 11:40:20 PMIt's definitely the strongest of the prequels, but I wouldn't necessarily say it stood out amongst the OT. There is a shit load of pointless fluff that contributed nothing to the plot such as the Battle Of Kashyyk, Obi Wan and Grievous etc, as well as the awkward pacing between Palpatine and Anakin. It certainly does it's job in entertaining you for a good hour and a half, but not to any significant degree.
-
I think we're all going to be looking back on the prequels fondly once Disney releases their sequels.
-
In Star Wars III, Obi-Wan says to Anakin "It's over, I have the high ground!" Yet in Episode I, in the final fight, Darth Maul had the higher ground, and could have sliced Obi-Wan in half, yet he just watches him as he grabs his lightsaber and cuts Darth Maul in half. Really? Still, I like all 6 movies, with III being the strongest of the prequels. I like to watch them from I-VI to have the best experience that I can have.
-
I don't dislike any of them but Episode III was definitely the best prequel. Still no where near the originals tho.
-
I think it was form without substance. There was the makings of a great story here, but it was ruined by the bullshit that Lucas crammed in. All of the good feels come down to the fight between Anikin and Kenobi, Yoda fleeing and the birth of the twins. This completely overlooks the massive problems with tone (showing comedy slapstick with R2 while Anikin is decapitating Dooku?) pacing (long and fast fight/chase sequences interrupted with stilted dialog on other locations) and character development (Anakin going back and forth in his transformation to Vader). The last 30 minutes could have been used to replace the entire prequel trilogy and done a better job at dong it.

Edited by Porsche 914: 4/17/2014 2:47:35 AMThere are some things I like, but for the most part it's still bad. The best things were no Jar Jar and seeing all the children die.

Started a new topic: Darth Vader "Noooo!" in Episode VI(8 Replies))

Just a couple problems really. Mostly just how Anakin is like "No, Windu, we need to put Palpatine on trial!", then Windu is like "He's too dangerous!", then Anakin cuts his hand off and goes well -blam!- it guess I'm a sith lord now.
What did you think of this particular film?
Episodes 1-3 aren't canon. Consequently I'm tempted to write off everything else that spawned from that. Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars mini can be canon. The rest of the expanded universe seems fine to me as well.

Dat opening space battle above Coruscant..
-
The only movies that I think are bad out of the whole saga are EP 1 and 6.
-
Spider-man 3 > Star Wars 3
-
IT'S OVER ANGRYBRUTE, I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND
-
FROM MY POINT OF VIEW THE PRODUCERS ARE EVIL
-
The only part about episode 3 I didn't like was Anakin. He was such a whiny little bitch.
-
I agree. Revenge of the Sith was a great film, and is EASILY the best of the prequel trilogy. Is it up to par with the original trilogy, oh no, definitely not, but it's still a great film none the less.

Edited by ~wolfBTM~: 4/17/2014 1:00:21 AMIt was the best prequel. However, some of the dialogue was awful.
-
Me too It was the best one out of the prequels
-
Did you make this thread because of NC?
-
"You underestimate my powers" So many horribly cheesy lines followed with bad acting and shit plot made that movie horrible.
-
I watched it yesterday, it was pretty good. I was mostly dissatisfied with General Greivous, I was expecting his four armed lightsaber duel to be epic but he lost two of his hands in the first minute.
-
I love all of the movies. Episode 1 had some really stupid moments and characters, and I will never acknowledge midichlorians, but it was still a decent movie.
-
I loved it too. The best of the prequels.
-
I liked it too...
