He was probrably great, but who really cares. Who plays a video game and cares about a soundtrack. I know music sets the mood , but this isnt some one-night you met at the club. This is a epic struggle for humanity and i can tell you in the heat of battle im not gonna care about the violin solo. There are a whole lot more than a soundtrack to be worried about, mainly why hasnt the beta been announced yet.

I think you have a split personality. Who cares? A game is really good with a great sound track! Who cares? I don't know who this fifteen year old founding employee Marty guy is. Who cares? I don't Yes you do! No I don't! Gollum ! Yes my precious?
-
Yeah man! Who in the world plays a video game and cares about the soundtrack? Or any sound for that matter! Only retards... amirite? *Face Palm*
-
Looks like I won't be grouping with anyone on the forums , too many immature adults
-
Have fun playing a shit game with shit music.
-
"OP is a newfag" *checks profile* "Yup"
-
@everyone commenting negatively can you imagine, in a few years, when you are the minority and things like this are posted? that scares the hell out of me.
-
Just…get out.
-
Who gives a -blam!- about generic gunplay in space? Are you honestly going to be playing this shit in 10 years? I doubt it. I'm still listening to the Halo CE OST
-
Why do you think Marty O' Donnell's nickname is "Marty the Elder"? He's one of the Bungie's most respected employees who's been with the company since the first Halo Game. He composed the music used in all the games and he does a tremendous job at that. Music isn't just a background noise used to gameplay less boring, no far from it. The use of music is to immerse the player in the video games setting and convey emotions that properly coordinate itself with the moment of the game. Some moments you'll want some songs that make things sad or seem hopeless. Other moments when you're in the heat of battle against a huge pack of Fallen Troops, you'll be introduced to an invigorating song that makes things seem a lot more fast-paced, filled with action, and make you feel like such a badass. That's why music is an important aspect to a game and if you can;t see that, then you're just ignorant and not a true fan.
-
OP has obviously never played halo.
-
Gr8 b8, m8! I rate it an 8.8/8.88.
-
Good point lol
-
If you're all so ANTI-BUNGIE then leave. Why are you still here posting on a Bungie forum. I'm sure Marty would care if any of you lost your jobs.
-
1/10 "Who plays a game and cares about the soundtrack?" Make it believable next time
-
In other words you have no idea what you are talking about.
-
I agree OP. The world will continue to turn and Destiny will still kick ass.
-
whats funny is a lot of the people who are now making posts about how Marty doesnt matter are probably insiders at bungie trying to sway the masses into herding a different direction because they know they just -blam!-ed up lol..
-
I smell a troll in our presence
-
Ageeed.

Edited by Mr Kay: 4/17/2014 3:02:11 AMSo you don't think anyone cares about the person who wrote probably the most iconic soundtrack for a video game, ever? Good background music is one of the most important things in a video game to me. It's a jet element in making me want to replay missions in campaigns, especially in halo
MARTY FREAKING O'DONNEL
You are so ignorant The beta is coming jackass. Marty May never come back
-
Who plays a video game and cares about a soundtrack.
You are not a true fan of Bungie if you say this. Music is one of the big things that gets you attached to the story, and is what got a lot of people attached to Halo's story.
-
I care. Marty was great, and that is simply your opinion that music does not make the difference. It makes one to me, as one who appreciates it.
-
Quick question: Have you ever played Halo before?
-
Wow, you are sooooooo stupid kid. I'm not sure if I can even insult you because you'll come up on me like some kind of CoD fanboy. Music is a very important part of a game, and Marty was huge, but you would never know because you never grew up with Halo.
