Where were you, on that fateful day?
The day the Empire betrayed it's founder and people by banning the worship of Talos, the god of man?
I curse the day the Emperor signed that treaty, and spit upon the Thalmor scum, whose jealousy drove Talos from our shrines.
Talos guide you, my children, for we are the children of man!

The only people who believe that the Empire betrayed them are short sighted fools. The ban wasn't even enforced until the "storm cloaks" threw a temper tantrum because they didn't get everything they wanted and even then it was only enforced because their rebellion drew the attention of the Thalmor and the Empire now had them breathing down their necks.
