Specifically it's either intergang violence or the commission of felonies. The weapon of choice is usually a handgun.
So, simple solution: Make being in a gang illegal. If you are found to belong to a gang then you are jailed for life. Cure the disease instead of treating the symptom.

Guns dont kill people. I kill people, with guns...

Guns don't kill people , people kill people

Edited by A Forum Cop: 4/4/2014 11:11:22 PMYou're using logic, liberals don't approve. Edit: OPs suggestion is ridiculous.

I actually would agree with this, although perhaps lighten the sentence a bit for a first time offender...depending on their mentality about it. Some of them I honestly can't stand. A prime example of it was when I was watching a show called Gangland, and they were interviewing one of the members of a certain gang who seriously said that his gang was more important than his own family, even his kids. Even if the show wasn't legitimate, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there are still people like that out there. Those people? You could bury a bullet in their skulls for all I care...I'll admit, I carry a bit of resentment against people who have children and don't truly appreciate that gift. People like that, in those gangs? They have a choice, they choose to be in a gang, they choose to put their own lives at risk as well as the lives of their family by association, and all for what? Some people aren't lucky enough to have a choice in that matter, some people lose who they love by a bad stroke of fate with no way to stop it. And all the while, these people risk losing the same thing, over nothing, because they choose to. Pardon the rant, please...that story just agitates me.

Banning gangs is a violation of the 2nd Amendment. Right to bare Arms and right to Regulate a militia. Yayy gangs and guns :D

Ban problems.
If you are found to belong to a gang then you are jailed for life.
That is literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my time here. I thought you were smarter than that, Methew.

Edited by PathlessDemon: 4/4/2014 10:58:46 AMLuLz, I've a better solution. 1yr. of Marshal Law. No holds-barred, bag and tag anything that moves against the law, and clear out all potential gangs. However, complaints of collateral damage, or innocents killed/injured in raids will not be acknowledged. Only to be seen as a reasonable sacrifice. That orphanage won't stand a chance... Peace through superior firepower.

Legalize drugs and prostitution and gangs will have no purpose. It worked with the mafia.
-
Your Methew is obsession, pathetic.
-
The girl guides will sh*t themselves with you in charge.
-
The only gang here is yourself, Methew. If you had not received a botched lobotomy you would know that.
-
Your obsession is pathetic, Methew.
-
End the horrific prohibition of drugs and prostitution and prosecute the REAL gang, the government.

As with all things, it's people that make the difference. When it comes to gun violence, or violence in general it's always either gang or mental health related. Hint, if you look outside the USA you find that violence follows an existing downward trend (in the developed world), unaffected by gun control legislation.

Good point, but what do we do with already over-flowing prisons?
-
then what causes the gangs?

Edited by MoReCoWbELLx2x1: 4/3/2014 11:33:55 PMAn actual sensible post about the gun problem in the US, on Bungie. Is it judgement day? Is the world ending? Well at least in a lose way it is
-
I'd say poverty, poor education, as well as poor enforcement of gun laws due to neutered law enforcement agencies are bigger causes than gangs since gangs would lose a lot of members with these measures.

I AGREE.

Guns aren't the problem. People are.
